Good hotel considering it is right in the middle of downtown Ottawa. Everything is within five minute walk. Did not even take ... the car out of the garage for the three days we were there. The parking however is really tight and $15/day felt a little expensive. Overall, would recommend it,

An adequate hotel

The hotel was ok. The staff were not helpful in assisting with the local attractions. There was no concierge so with no ... assistance from the desk clerks it was find your own way. The women we spoke with did not even know where the information center was. In fact she looked at us as if it was news to her that there was one and suggested we look it up online. Not the best experience we ever have had. The rest of the hotel was clean and the location turned out to be pretty good to some of the local interests.

Right in the center of Ottawa, and very close to the Parliment park.

In warm nights take a 30 - 45 min walk to see the National Gallery, follow down the road to the bridge going to Gatineau to have the most amazing views of Parliament Hill and then return walking to Major's Park in front of the US Embassy. Continue up towards the Chateau Laurier Hotel and turn right to see the Tower of the Parliament on top of the hill.

Peaceful spot amidst downtown Ottawa
Birdvet 2006 Jul 5, 2009
We visited Ottawa for the first time, mostly to experience Canada Day. Compared to our hotel in Montreal, we were very very ... pleased with the Novotel Ottawa. It was clean, appeared to be quite new, had pleasing decor, and the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The bed was comfortable, had a wonderful duvet (compared to those gross bedspread things you get at most other hotels), and the room was up to speed with technology (flat screen TV and Internet availability, with a desk for your computer). Even during the excitement of Canada Day (huge crowds partying outside), we found the hotel to be an escape from it all. There was plenty of security, with no chance that drunken party-people would wander in and disrupt your stay.

Visited Ottawa on Canada Day July 1st. City (And hotels) were packed with visitors from all over. Novotel honored Orbitz ... booking at impressively competitive rate. In fact, as no room were readily available I was upgraded to a suite accomodotation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent hotel.

Easy to get in from the highway, it is located only 3 blocks from Parliament Hill. The check in was straight forward and the ... front desk young fellows were friendly and useful with the info. The beds (two queen that looked more like doubles) were very comfy, but the TV choice of channels (we didn't care much about it though) was just so so. Parking and breakfast were extra. Internet wireless was complimentary.

Though the room was relatively small, it was comfortable. The location was very central for visiting Ottawa. The breakfast ... items didn't really change the four days we were there but the quality was very good, especially the baked items; it was like they have their own patisserie.

Novotel had a very comfortable, attractive room. It was ready for us before noon, tho we asked for a late arrival. The ... location was excellent! We walked to Parliament buildings and the Byward market place. Walked to dinner at night to 2 different restaurants and felt safe. Shopping was also nearby.
