Excellent Value in Madrid

The Novatel Madrid Campo de Las Naciones had very friendly staff, good size rooms, and a great location in downtown Madrid. ... Everything was exceptionally clean and in its proper place. The bed was comfortable and big. We had an excellent stay.

I arrived at 11pm and when I arrived the front desk staff asked for my passport. When I stepped out of the lobby my laptop ... was stolen. The hotel staff seemingly looked away when two men stole the laptop. Then they were unhelpful in aiding me recover my laptop. They would not release the videotape to me nor were they helpful the rest of the duration of my stay.Despite the hundreds of video cameras around the hotel it is easy to be a theif around this hotel. It is clearly not safe to stay here despite its relative location outside the city in the industrial area. Thieves definitely know this is a good spot to pick pocket tourists. Shady location, shady staff, and shady hotel.
