We had mildew in our bathroom which made it hard for my asthmatic husband to breath. They also had some sort of outage down ... the street so I only got 1 hot shower during our 4 day 4 night stay. Our friends room had tiny ants in the shower. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. I didn't care fro the people in the lobby always trying to set you up with tours and dining. Also the beach pics are before hurricane Wilma. Half of that sand is no longer there. The columns also took a beating.

Great location if you want to be within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and popular clubs. Krystal does have ... a great pool and beach. Staff very helpful - anytime we needed something, room service very fast. If you stay, do the $30 upgrade you get a balcony and rooms are closer to the beach. It was a great value for the $$. We had teens with us, so we frequented the shops, restaurants and beach the most. Transportation system great - you can take a bus just about anywhere. I would stay at the Krystal on another visit.

Book your tours online with entertainment plus like I did. All tours showed up when told and arrived when told. Skip the time share people they will give you free alcohol just to get you to buy and sign. Trust me, they will waste 4 hours of your time and will not let you go until you give in they are timeshare sharks. Do not give in to them they promise you free tours, free alcohol, food etc..

Good location, not so great hotel
mom of 2 Jul 31, 2009
There were 9 of us that booked this hotel 5 months prior to the date of arrival and I was told by phone and email that our ... rooms were be ready and available well guess what, only 1 room was ready. I requested 2 rooms with 2 beds, 1 room with 1 bed. I was given 2 rooms with 1 bed and when I left to request a room with 2 beds the door would not close to the room. Other room was given to us while the prior guest were still using it. Upon entry to the room the prior guest happened to be in the room at the same time. Good thing these people were not naked when door was opened. Rooms and hallways smell like sewer even as you walk up to the hotel from the outside. I found many ants as others mentioned. I was previously given a room with front view ocean then had to switch to a 2 beds with a front view of the roof of a building. Not good. Was told to come back next morning for ocean front view and was told it would cost me an additional 30.00 dollars a night for upgrade. Many promises, many broken. Only good thing is the location. Dont drink their drinks in the room or the snacks they cost you an arm and a leg. Go across the street at oxxo and buy your drinks and snacks there. Would not stay there again would rather stay at dreams hotel or fiesta american which is near it.

Mr. Traveler Jul 14, 2009
NH Krystal is great if your looking for a hotel near popular clubs, bars, malls and markets. Nearby shopping is not so cheap ... so I suggest taking a short bus to La Isla mall, to shop, and walmart for grocery needs. I also found it very nice that the hotel had a very calming atmophere with minimal vendors around. The hotel restaurant "El Mortero" was very beautiful and had a great, live mariachi band but was very pricey.

It was a nice hotel - the front desk ladies were somewhat helpful - didnt have our room once we got there, so we had to wait ... more than an hour for our room. The pool was a little dirty - and I didnt like how there wasnt a sandy beach right behind the hotel - there were sand bags and the wall of the hotel's pool. If you came to relax - Im not sure this hotel is right for you - it is located right around the party local of cancun. Friday night I could hear neighbors screaming and slamming doors - very annoying!

Pool and view are absolutely breathtaking. However, there was a lot of rain which caused a lot of condensation inside the ... room. The roof was also leaking in the lobby. The hotel is in a great location, beach front and shops and restaurants are close enough for a brief walk. Beautifull pool ... area. Although we were only there for a brief period, (too short to complain about the odor and shower water spiling on the floor) the minor problems mentioned before could be fixed and would recommend it as a convenient location.

We went to Cancun for the annual Cancun Jumpoff event. We had a great view of the pool and ocean from our room. We stayed ... on the new side of the hotel. We had a few issues when we arrived. Their weren't enough staff checking in the customers. When we got to our room, we had no iron or iron boarding. Their were 2 days where we had no water to take a shower or wash our hands for a few hours. We had asked for 2 double beds but got a king size, no big deal but it would have been nice to know before we walked into our room.

My Cancun Trip
Sheneika May 26, 2009
The NH Krystal is in a prime location along the club strip in Cancun. The staff was very pleasant and eager to provide ... assistance. The hotel décor was very nice and the rooms as well as other areas were generally clean and well maintained. The only complaint I had was my room was located on the old side of the hotel and I had severe plumbing issues. For example, my toilet kept clogging and there were leaks throughout my bathroom which left a rank smell in my room. Besides the plumbing issues I was really satisfied with my overall experience at the NH Krystal and I will definitely recommend someone staying there.

If you like nightlife, stay close to shopping Isla. Most clubs are close although you can take a city bus to everything for 65cents. COCO BONGO is THE BEST!!!!!!Get a VIP pass or do the club hopper. It saves money and time on standing in lines and if you tip good 1 time a guy will get you ur drinks all night. You can usually get discounts at ur hotel. Free t-shirts too. Get them upon exit, u don't wanna carry them all night.

Lots of fun still available on the strip. Prices are still comparable to U.S.for food and most drinks on the strip. You DON'T want to get in trouble in Mexico or anywhere else in or out of the U.S. USE YOUR HEAD, DON'T GET CRAZY and you can have a great trip! Recommend hotel with some reservations.
--Georgia Girl, Northwest Georgia Mar 8, 2009
If you need to go anywhere on the hotel zone or to downtown Cancun, don't take taxi - take the bus. Buses run very frequently, every 5 minutes, and cost 6.5 pesos (50 cents) per person, one way. But be sure to have correct change in pesos. If you pay in dollars, don't expect any change, and you will be charged at least $1 per person.
