We were so pleased with the beautiful view from our room, and we enjoyed the restaurant very much. The housekeeping staff ... were wonderful as were the wait staff. It was a great weekend.

We stayed at the Newport Marriott for two nights at Thanksgiving, 2007, checking in during the evening hours of the Holiday. ... The staff on duty that day was not too well informed about the details. I had to make several calls and visits to the front desk to iron out the details but we eventually received everything that we needed. We had a late night snack in the lounge (the dining room was not open that night). The food was mediocre and the skeleton crew on duty that evening could not keep up with the numerous hotel guests who wanted service. It did not appear that there was anywhere else in town that was serving that night. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with delicious selections of fruit, hot and cold cereal, breakfast meats, fish, breads, pastries and made to order omelets and waffles. The morning wait staff was pleasant and attentive. This was a highlight of our stay. The fitness center and pool were clean, orderly and well appointed. The location on the harbor is ideal. We walked along the waterfront and shopped along Thames Street on Black Friday. Our bill arrived during the night prior to our departure and on-line checkout through our in-room TV was great. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel and have already recommended it to friends and family for a weekend getaway.
