Newport, RI trip
Ess Nov 13, 2009
Even though the pool and hot tub were in the other building, we didn't mind. We were tired and the beds were so very comfy. ... The room was large and the view was spectacular. If we ever travel there again, it will be our first choice for accomodations.

Wonderful weekend getaway
LisaMarie Nov 10, 2009
We had a great time, except the first room they gave us was tiny- about the size of a large closet with no tub, just a ... shower. After we upgraded and switched rooms we loved it. Liked the location and the jacuzzi roof top hot tub. The food was wonderful, but nobody mentioned the 20% discount for staying there. Would have eaten there more! Over all had a great time and the staff was great!

Short walk to the beach to watch the surfers in Novemburrrrr!!
--Ess, Canandaigua,NY Nov 13, 2009
Everything but the beach is about 1/2 mile away. A nice walk through nice residential area, but don't expect to leave the room and walk for a quick bite.

Nice but did not deliver
TJMcD Apr 23, 2009
I booked this hotel largely due to its amenities, especially the advertised outdoor hot tub and fire pit. These were big ... positives for a one night get away in RI in April with my wife. Upon arrival, we were informed the indoor pool was closed, but we could use pool at a sister property 7 miles away. Then after checking in, we discovered the outdoor hot tub also was closed too. The room was beautiful, but the hotel was not in the main business area, so we were somewhat secluded without the amenities that would have made seclusion a positive experience. The hotel would not make monetary adjustment because we booked through Orbitz, and Orbitz was unable to resolve the issue despite 20 - 30 minutes on a 3-way phone call. Very disappointed.

Great Place to Stay
Fern Oct 26, 2008
I've stayed here three separate times and always had an excellent experience. The rooms are ALL totally redone with taste and ... COMFORT in mind. The historic building has smaller rooms but ocean views in front side, the other building across the crosswalk has bigger rooms with same quality furnishings but bigger bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs. **** Very clean everywhere, and wonderful free breakfast includes many selections.

mixed feelings
Christopher May 21, 2007
No real complaints. The Room was a bit musty/smelly and not the very clean, but other than that it worked for what we ... wanted. Weekend rates are well overpriced. The location is great and the breakfast was decent. Staff seem nice enough. I would go back, but not at peak prices.

Newport Experience
Ed May 4, 2007
The hotel was conveniently located to the Cliff Walk and to the beach--a great location. Driving from the hotel to the ... Newport tourist attractions took only a few minutes. Our room had an ocean view. The staff was personable. The only drawback was the quality and the variety of food at the free continental breakfast.
