The New Clinton Hotel is located in the heart of South Beach. Newly opened in 2004, this ultra-contemporary hotel raises the bar for cutting edge design and innovation in this already chic neighborhood. Abandoning most conventional ideals for hotel design, the Clinton follows its own muse and the result is an ultra-cool intimate and sexy place to stay when visiting one of the world's most popular destinations. While the building itself is a product of the neighborhood's historical art deco past, the Clinton is of completely new construction on the inside. Situated on Washington Avenue, the hotel is surrounded by diverse restaurants, trendy shops and lively bars. The location is just steps away from the beach, yet pleasantly removed from the tourist traps on Ocean Drive. Relaxation in luxurious surroundings, combined with the innovation of choice. Indulge yourself in one of our luxurious spa rooms, experience outdoor tranquility in our unique roof top patio rooms, or if privacy is your key to relaxation.

Clinton Hotel -- It is what it is.
KevD Nov 15, 2009
I stayed at the hotel for four nights, it is an odd set up super modern, everything is blacklit, the rooms don't really have ... an overhead light and there is a window from the bathroom into the room, its kind of like a version of the future from a James Bond film from the 70's. That said, there are some pluses and minuses about the hotel, on the plus side, the location and price were great. You are three blocks from the beach, you can walk to tons of restaurants, bars, shops, and clubs. They give you chairs and towels for the beach. On the negative side-- It was fairly quite when I was there but the walls are thin. Its probably not suited to families, more so young groups looking to party and maybe young couples. There are no food options at the hotel, but there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance

I loved the hotel! the location was really great. close to everything. there was a scooter rental place like a block ... away, snorkeling/scuba diving place right across from the hotel too. we stayed for two nights- on the first night, lukily no one was in the rooms next to ours, so it was VERY quiet. but second night, ppl checked into rooms next to ours, and i could hear ppl talking or their tv sounds... the wall was very thin. but lukily we didn't get to hear those "sounds" because we fell asleep early that night. the maid didn't clean up our room when we were away, so we just called the front desk and they cleaned it up very soon. the bathroom was really cool. you could see thru the glass and all. i really liked the room, it was very modern, well-designed and clean. I wouldn't recommend it to families thou. but for couples, it's a great place to stay :)

DONT STAY HERE Sep 11, 2009
1. Believe the other poor reviews!!! This place is disgusting.Donbt believe the price either! Many hidden charges make a one ... night stay atleast 160 dollars. Which is what i paid expecting to pay 89.00. You do the math. The walls are paper thin. The lobby smells like a rest stop public bathroom. The staff does not really care about anything. Very rude!! I tried to take a shower and the water was freezing. Already completely disappointed with this place I called the front desk asking for a refund. The gentleman came upstairs to my room to check the warmth of the shower water. He then stood in the bathroom with his hand under the shower claiming to my girlfriend the water was hot. I then walked into the bathroom put my hand under the shower water and looked the employee in the eyes and called him an absolute liar. They transferred our room to another blank hole two doors down. Please read the other reviews and take them seriously. This place wont be around too much longer bc its absolutley awful. The pool was as big as a bathtub and not maintained. If you care about the person you are staying with do them a favor and never think about booking here.

Not so great
Traveling Fool Aug 25, 2009
The location was decent. It's walking distance to the beach and close to shopping and good restaurants. However, the website ... makes the hotel look much nicer than it actually is. The room was so-so, but the hotel was very noisy and the staff was unfriendly and not helpful. The internet didn't work (though they charge you anyway - resort fee) and the maid skipped cleaning my room one day. The staff didn't really seem to care all that much. Also, the shower was awful. The bathroom was nice and looked liked it had been recently remodeled, but they forgot the shower head. Gross!

Seascapes 2 Aug 13, 2009
Was like a wolf in sheeps clothing, pictures do not tell the stroy here, dark dingy hallways very narrow, scuffed up walls ... and drawers, thin walls could hear everything inside and outside, drunk people fighting outside our windows -swearing cussing, unfriendly staff, hidden $27 parking fee you dont know until you get there and the $7 fee for resort fee, pool was size of an oversized bath tub and dirty, used towels everywhere, only had one towel left for us to use, workout room was nothing - one peice of equipment, location was decent, would not accept a cancellation fee so we had to pay for a night we did not use the hotel for or would not want to stay at for a second night. Overall, would never recommend this to a friend or family or foe. Good luck on getting sleep if you decide to stay here!!

Young at heart Aug 12, 2009
It was a different experience from my usual big chain hotel, but very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, ... especially [...], [...], and [...]. The pool is small, and the water is quite warm, not really refreshing. I was in it once and saw about 8 other people try it over the course of 4 days. But the courtyard was pretty. The rooms are chic and modern. The double room is quite spacious, L-shaped with a day bed. Cons: my room didn't have a clock; there was only one robe and one coffee mug; there was a slight smell in the bathroom as if someone had been sick in there; the garbage trucks at the back of the hotel make a lot of noise very early in the morning; there is no restaurant, bar, or spa.In general, a comfortable, reasonably quiet (in August) place to stay with good rates and a really friendly staff.

Staff was unfriendly and not helpful! They also provide a rate, but fail to mention that parking is $27 a day and they charge ... $8 a day for towels and internet (even if you do not use them). It was also extremely dark in the hotel. I felt like I was in a night club. I would never stay there again. If you just want a bed to sleep in...then go for it!

A contemporary hotel in South Beach!
Beach Connoisseur Jul 27, 2009
It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to hotels. This hotel was beautiful: very contemporary, clean rooms, very friendly ... and helpful staff, etc. There were many restaurants in walking distance as well as shops. The only negative thing for us is that we love the beach and it was quite a trek there carrying all our things-about 8 mins. I would love to come back!

The good, the bad, and the ugly!!!
little bit Jun 29, 2009
My stay was okay at this hotel. The lobby area could have been more inviting. Meaning, they could have made it more of a ... meeting spot. Every time we would walked through the hotel, no one was there! They could played better music, light candles and had someone work at the bar. No one was ever at the bar, so you couldn't evenget a drink! Isn't that what Miami is about? The pool is VERY small! The restaurant looked deserted! I never saw anyone dining in the restaurant. It was located off to the side, that you wouldn't even know it was there! The shower head should be on the other side of the wall... When you turn it on, you will get wet because it is behind the shower door. The work out room SUCKED!!! What a disappointment!. We had every intention to work-out everday and couldn't because the equiptment didn't work!! And last....we tried to take a shower and the entire shower knob came off!! This was due to the screws coming out. We called for someone to come and fix it. Well... the did come to the room to look at it. Said they would be back, and never returned!!

Be sure to check out Lincoln Rd. Mall, a short trip north. Don't be fooled by the great smell coming out of the pizza shops along the way; they smell great, but taste like nothing. Best day trip = Villa Vizcaya, a short cab ride south. Leave ~3 hours to really take it in and get some great pictures. If you wanna see celeb houses and take a boat trip out along southbeach, upgrade to the Thriller boat at Bayside; worth the few extra bucks. Designer shopping = Bal Harbour mall!!!
