Owner is trying to do it all by himself. English is his second language which may be why he did not get our reservation ... dates correctly. We go to Mund's Park to visit friends in the area. This is the only motel in the town.

Good little motel

Nice little motel. Reception sort of sucks. If you plan on visiting Sedona it is very far from there. Its nice if you need a ... cheap nice place to stay inn. No internet.

We spent an afternoon seeing Metoer Crater since we didn't see it on the way due to the weather but its maybe an hour drive I think. Flagstaff is only like 20 minutes as is Sedona without the pricey hotels there!

A Wonderful Hideaway
Shawn Mar 18, 2008
We arrived on 3/16/08 and stayed two evenings. The weather was snowing and traffic was bad and it delayed our check-in, the ... hotel filled up fast! I enjoyed being in the office having coffee feeling like I was in a log cabin lookin on as my son, and the owner's son enjoyed the snow together! This was just a stop on a sight seeing route to Tucson but we'll enjoy again on future visits!!

don't expect much
tracey Mar 18, 2008
I wasn't expecting much, but I needed an inexpensive place to stay in the area. Motel in the Pines was a little odd, ... starting with being checked in by the owner's young son. The room was outdated and the walls were paper thin but the beds were fairly comfortable. I was thankful for my earplugs! But a plus was that there were many cable stations to watch after a long day of hiking and driving. There is a convenience store across the street, as well as a restaurant. When I arrived at 8:00, they were both closed, but open early when I left the next morning. Checkout the next morning was quick and easy and the owner was friendly. Motel in the Pines has in their description that it is perfect for a romantic getaway, but it really isn't. It is perfect for if you happen to be on that stretch of 17 North and need a decent place to sleep for the night. Oh, by the way, if you bring a pet, there is a $30 deposit and a $10 fee per day.
