Be treated like a Queen
Lawzy Dena Nov 19, 2009
If you want to be treated like a queen this is the place. It is their pleasure to serve you. This place is so clean you could ... eat in the restroom if you liked. Even the trash cans are cleaned daily. I mean scrubbed all over.I wish the US would adopt this cleaning practice. I felt more secure there then I do here in US cities. The food is fabulous and all you can eat. Everything taste real. There is no artificial flavoring. The butter and penut butter delicious. Try as many resturants as you can they are all differant. Awesome to be surrounded by happiest all the time. Can't wait to return. It was hard to return to reality. We did zip lining with two out of four of us scared of heights. A great accomplishment and the staff made you feel relaxed and safe.

The resort provides a bus to its sister resorts in Cancun. Then you have approximately two blocks two walk to the mall. We took a cab to and from because the bus was already full. The price is okay but be prepared for the ride of your life. Apparently there is an area that has no speed limit.

This was the second all inclusive trip that I have been on. Unlike my previous trip, the staff was extremely friendly and ... did not expect a tip. If you did, they were very thankful, but they were also thankful without a tip too. The location is wonderful. Only about 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from zip line, and 20 minutes from snorkeling. I would highly recommend the hassle free round trip ahead of time. Our transportation picked us up from the airport as promised and were right on time for pick up to drop us back off at the airport.

When booking any activity, don't forget that you can negotiate the price! We got 10% off our snorkeling adventure just for paying in cash.

Moon Palace is an above average resort with friendly, accomodating staff! The restauarants were all very good. The pools ... immaculate and so inviting. The Golf Suite was spacious and immaculate! We enjoyed wonderful spa treatments and did many affordable activities. I would recommend parasailing and aqua-twister but don't waste your time or money on the sea-explorer. The mosquitos were bad but just bring plenty of good bug spray! We will definitely vacation here again!!

We were there on our honeymoon and the only thing that we needed was more time. We took advantage of the free tours they ... offered but didnt sign up on time so we only did the Chichen-Itza, Wet'N'Wild,Xcaret, and the Zip line. Xcaret wasnt free but it's worth the $$. We REALLY would have loved to visit the other places they offered(Tulum, Coba,& Isla De Mujeres) but like I said, it was too late to sign up. The only thing bad about this is they try to get you to become a "member" and want to take up half of your day with a tour of the whole hotel and get you to join. If you're not interested then make it a point that you arent, or else you'll get a call at 8:00am asking about participating in the tour.

5 Star Hotel for a 4 Star Price!
Chris Nov 6, 2009
Upon checking into the hotel we were treated with a lot of attention. We were asked if we were here on honeymoon or a special ... occasion and when I said my girlfriends birthday, they sent a bottle of champagne and cake to the room that night! The waiters, waitresses and bartenders were on their game! If you ordered room service, you can bet your food would be there in less than 20 mins. The pools and grounds were beautiful, very large and spacious. Almost too big at the time we went because capacity was at about 20% and there wasnt many people around you, which i guess has its good and bad things. They said their busy months are nov-feb. Also, you couldnt swim in the ocean because its very rocky. But the pools are amazing. Id suggest staying in the Sunrise section of the resort as it is newer and more "happening" than the nizuc section of the resort. The restaurants are good, there are many of them, and you will enjoy the food, some are al la carte and some are buffet style. The oriental in the sunrise section the brazilian in the nizuc section and the italian in the golf section are among the best. Be sure to take advantage of all the free tours that your package allows you, but you must book them a day in adavance. We did the zip lineing, the tulum ruins tour, and we spent the day at Wet and Wild, which is owned by Moon Palace and swamn with the dolphins! That was fun. We also spent an hour in the beautiful Spa, which I suggest. Our Package included a $150 credit for the spa and Golf as well. I didnt golf, but if you do, the golf course is amazing. All in all, I'd go back again but would stay at Sunrise section instead. If you bring some tip money, you def. get a lot more attention, but they arent pressing you for tips. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, this is your place. If you want to be more adventurous, go on some excursions and have a great time!
Traveler type: Couples
The sunrise section as a disco where you can drink and dance or just listen to good music....but if you want to go to the bars on the main strip of cancun, you will need to take a cab or bus about 15-20 mins.

We had an amazing time at the Moon Palace Resort. The staff was great. They were very attentive and always greeted you with ... a smile. The food was good and room service was lightning fast. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet the most, especially the french toast. The grounds were beautiful and the beach goes on and on for miles. The pools were amazing. The resort had a secluded feeling, there weren't any other hotels for miles. The ONLY thing I did not like about the loacation was the beach. I LOVE swimming in the ocean when there are big waves. The beach is located behind the reef so the waves don't break on the shore. Also there was a bunch of seaweed that gets washed up. My all-inclusive package allowed me to visit any of the other Palace resorts in Cancun, Cozumel or Isla Mujeres so a 15 minute shuttle ride took me to another location where I could body surf all day long.

Our ocean view room offered a spectacular view. Numerous good restuarants to choose from and we ate at most of them. We ... were there the first week of October and there were not a lot of people there, so you could walk into any restuarant without a wait. Service was great and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed taking the resort bus to the Beach Place where the water is beautiful turquoise. Also, would highly recommend the excursion to Mayan ruins at Ek Balam. Ek Balam is not as well known as some other ruins, but very interesting and not as crowded.

We changed our stay the day before we left to the Sun Palace and were glad we did. The Sun Palace is a smaller resort ... compared to the Moon Palace and is couples only which was great. We visited the Moon Palace and it seems nice too. Played Golf at Moon Palace and it was way nice, highly recomened. We were glad to use the amenities of all the Palace resorts. We only went to 2 of the night shows(the dreams,& drum dance and fire) which were really good. We wished we would have gone to the other shows that they put on. It's not Vegas quality shows or anything but they were talented individuals and did an awesome job. We were impressed The staff was excellent. Room Service was there in 10 min. or less each time we ordered food to the room. Pool activities were fun. We only did one of the excursions, the zipline. We had a blast on that too. The food was great. We'll definitly stay there again if we go as a couple only and if we take our kid(s) we'll probably stay at the Beach Palace, but either way we'll stay at a Palace Resort.

We have been to the Moon Palace before and always enjoyed it. This time we went with 2 other couples and had a great time. ... The only bad thing I can say is that the economy seems to have hit even this hotel...there wasn't as many options for all the meals and some were not even doing buffets. The grounds were pretty but not as well kept as they had been in the past. Overall we would go back. We bought the roundtrip from the airport to the hotel and had no problems getting to the hotel...on the way back though we were never able to set up our already paid for transportation since the guy we were suppose to contact never felt the need to go to work. And when we did catch up with him ONCE he did not know any of our information and wanted us to come back to give it to him later....of course we never saw him after that and had to take a taxi to the airport.

If you want the free excursions, book as soon as you get there; otherwise they fill up fast. Tulum is a neat experience, but a lot of walking and was extremely hot. It takes about 1 1/2 on a bus too. It's worth visiting the other Palace hotels too on the free shuttle. Beach Palace is near shopping in Cancun so you can ride there free and then shop a little. Also if you want to swim in the ocean, moon palace's water is cloudy and not as clean as the Beach Palace or the water at Tulum.
