I have stayed here before and have continued to come back time again because of the very private rooms. They are decent in ... size, and the price is always in the rite range for me to be able to stay here. I love the walk ways they have thru the grass for your walking, its very up lifting to walk thru the buildings which all seem like private cottages almost.

Loved the free wireless, bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, but shower was a sprinkle. Set up like a motel. Where you drive ... up to your door but I was on the 2nd level, which is difficult with heavy luggage. Room was quiet and comfortable otherwise.

My Mission Reservations
Miss Fit Nov 10, 2009
Very dissapointed with interior of the room. With updates, this could be a pleasant, 3-star or more. Amenities were fair; ... one computer with very limited access, however adequate for my needs. Staff was pleasant. We opted to move to the Hilton, by necessity as well as preference since the conference had a very demanding schedule. I had hoped for a partial refund of the hotel fee, or somehow having some flexibility regarding the accommodations.

Forgettable stay
Couple Travelers Nov 4, 2009
When i went to check in, they gave me the wrong room from what i payed for which was a superior king. it was very cramped. ... then they changed the room, didn't apologize either. The tv was static, and when you opened the door to the bathroom it hit the toilet. they say they have heated pools, they were not heated. The restraunt they have at the hotel, the food wasn't very good either. The staff wasn't very friendly. it's okay to stay if traveling through but wouldn't stay longer than that. You get what you pay for.

Jose the Traveler Nov 3, 2009
The room we stayed in at the hotel was very comfortable the room was a fairly good size and the bed was very comfortable. The ... bus stop is right in front of the hotel for people who cant afford taxis or didn't take their cars. That was very convenient for us, since we just flew there and didn't have much cash. But the hotel descriptions had said it was a little out-dated, but it really didn't feel like it.

Really Good Value
Young Phoenix couple Oct 21, 2009
Great location in Hotel Circle. Very, very close to Mission Beach & Sea World. Really nice property. Definitely an older ... hotel, so picky people need not stay. Room was very large with a balcony even. One of the least expensive options in the area, so it was a really good value. "Waffle Spot" Restaurant is inside a hotel just west of the property. Fantastic "dive" breakfast joint in the spirit of the old breakfast diners a la "Waffle House". A couple of negatives worth mentioning: The one ice machine that I could find was centrally located on the property, meaning you have to make a little trek to get there (and don't forget your room key, as you need it to make the machine work). We were on the second floor and there are no elevators. No big deal for us as we are young and in good shape, but those who would find hauling luggage, kids, etc. up a flight of outdoor stairs difficult would want to make sure they were on the first floor. Room service is open only until 10 pm, so make note of that night owls (but the cheesecake was UNBELIEVABLE!) Last, the television was really old and the picture not good. This wouldn't have been a big deal except that we ordered a movie for $12.99 and during certain scenes (nightime) had a hard time even seeing what was going on. Overall, just minor complaints. If your main goal is an inexpensive, value hotel that's basic but clean and close to the area attractions, this is a great place. I would definitely stay there again (and we didn't even get to try out the supposedly amazing workout facilities!).

Little walk to "Waffle Spot" for breakfast. It was so good the first morning, we went back the second! Also, just across the highway (short drive) is Seau's sports bar (owned by Junior Seau), which is supposedly the best place in San Diego to catch a game.

Convenient to everything!
Kelleon Oct 18, 2009
The location of the resort was convenient to so much in San Diego although traffic can be tricky but that's just how it is ... there. The rooms needed updating but were reltively clean but far from spotless. The beds were "very firm". Our room was totally quiet even though they were completely booked. The grounds were lush and beautiful with multiple pools. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for better service.

Disappointed Oct 13, 2009
The room was not very clean. Found a beer can under the bed and the carpets were very old and dirty. The person staying in ... the room next to me stayed up ALL night and I did not get any sleep and had to drive back to Tucson the next morning. He had people come by at 4 am. I was very frustrated. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only good thing was the location. The restaurant charged me for someone elses food, very upsetting.

so we needed a place to stay since our house was being fumigated for the weekend so we shopped around and decided on MVR we ... seemed like a deal for the money. blah. the most uncomfortable bed i've even slept on. tiny bathroom. no pressure in the shower. paper thin walls. only a few channels on the tv and they were BLURRY. tried to rent a movie (@ $15 mind you) and it was BLURRIER than the regular tv. not to mention there were no elevators to the 2nd floor...did i mention there were stairs to the first floor too? so many little things i didnt expect the stay to be like the sheraton or double tree but i at least expected something better. i think the motel 6 down the street would have been better.

Marz Oct 11, 2009
Considering the price, this hotel was exceptional. It deserves its 3 star rating. The mid-zize pool, large jacuzzi, ... restaurant, and convientent store made for a very enjoyable stay. The location was perfect for our Zoo and Wild Animal Park trip and the hotel was very easy to find. Also, the staff was very friendly. We upgraded to a large room with one bedroom, a refridgerator, and a microwave. We had no complaints. I would definately choose this hotel again when in Saan Diego.

Mary Jo Oct 11, 2009
Sorry to say this was a bad experience. Room was in back outside hotel. Very plain room maybe for truck driver. Noisy. ... Smelled of smoke. Restaurant was outside hotel. Very dark walking across parking lot at night. I will not stay at this hotel again. It's very near a freeway with constant traffic noise. I asked the desk attendant when I checked in why the room was outside the hotel, and he said those are the rooms we give to this type of reservation. I also asked why there wasn't even a sidewalk to the restaurant. He said that is how it is. Pleasant surroundings would have made my stay more pleasant. I left and went to another hotel,

There is high end and low end shopping and some fast food places to eat in the Fashion Valley Mall. You can access it either through side streets or a short hop on the freeway. I would recommend asking for directions, although once you do it once, it will be quite easy to get back.
