Don't turn into second class guests!!!
Second class guest Sep 2, 2009
The facilities are great, as is the location. However, their staff treat people who have prepaid their rooms as second rate ... guests. According to their policies, their "real customer" was orbitz, or whatever, and since you didnot pay directly, you don't deserve any explanations or considerations. If you had any problems, however small, they referred you to orbitz, since they were the real customers!!! Don't make a mistake! Choose another hotel. They didn't even want to give you a check out receipt since (you guessed it!) YOU ARE NOT THEIR CLIENT!!!!

We went to a Argentinain resturant on the same block and it was very good food but we ordered to much, 1 order of meat is good for 2 people and share get a salad or veges and it is more than enough for 2. Also a new Japaneese resturant is on the corner in front of the Melia it looked very nice.

Beautiful getaway
Cass Jul 29, 2009
My friend and I stayed there for family business. The location was excellent. It was in the most beautiful part of Mexico ... City with easy access to everything we needed. The food was exceptionally good in the hotel giving us some regional flavor (my friend is Mexican and commented on the food being very good). The rooms were very nicely decorated and we never heard anyone else! It was like we were alone, I have never had that experience in the hotel. The staff was professional and very friendly. I felt like I was pampered. All in all a wonderful stay.

I was in Mexico City for 2 seminars one at the Melia and another nearby. It was a great stay the staff was very helpful and ... friendly. The room was clean beds comfortable and good room service food. We swam in the pool but didnt have time for spa treatments but the list offered very up to date services. All in all it was very reasonable for the amenities and service offered. We had a fabulous stay.

Great Hotel

This hotel was very beautiful. The only complaint would be the location. Somewhat far from the zona rosa, zocolo, and park, ... which are main tourist attractions. But in a great location for bussiness travelers.

great tourist destination
Ernesto Jul 30, 2007
The Gran Melia Reforma has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in when traveling abroad. The room size was great, ... its furniture divided the room into three different sections. You have your own desk and chair with internet acess for the business traveler followed by your own lazy boy chair to just sit back and relax after a great tour of the city. Complete with an adjoining bathroom, this comes with a seperate stand up shower for the go or a sunk in tub for an hour long soak. And with its king size bed, one will truly sleep like a rock through out the night. At the same tiome, this room also came with a large closet for easy storage and a small safe to secure any valuables. Overall, this hotel has meet my expectations, great accomodations, excellent employee staff and great restaurant services.

To the North youl find Chapultepec castle as well as the museum of modern art an the museum of anthropology. Great for business not for a tourist
Veronica Jul 30, 2007
The Gran Melia was indeed gran.It was turly a five star hotel. The room were very clean and comfortable.I also felt very safe. ... We were able to walk to the zocalo and to the palacio de bellas artes. However, it is geared for a person on business, not for a tourist.I was never welcomed when I entered the hotel. When we arrived very early in the morning the front deak made no extra effort to get us into a room or to tell us were all of the amenities. They simply said to come back around three.
