The Marley Resort
We thought that a resort would include certain amenities which The Marley Resort did not. We saw no food available, the gift ... shop was closed on Sunday, and since we arrived without our luggage this was important. There were no restaurants nearby. It appeared that there were only a few people staying there and they seemed to be as lost as we were.Perhaps The Marley is a victim of the economy. We only stayed one night and [...] was great about refunding the other five nights of our stay

Unique boutique experience
Welcoming and interesting environment, built around the Marley musical and personal legend. Website reviews by others ... prepared us for owners' issues of supporting small room base ( only 16 rooms) with full staff and food service. Therefore, expect some overlay of event hosting, (which could be interesting/pleasant or loud and distracting, depending upon your perspective.) Also, expect food to be as expensive as anywhere on island, but delicious, and with careful/custom service ( slow at times). Updating of this former governor's compound has been done tastefully with beautiful colors and grounds appropriate to African heritage. ( As nice as any I have seen in Africa.)

To prepare for day trips ( inexpensive jitney, frequent pickups in front) there is a grocery store (with deli) and a liquor store diagonally one block across the highway in a small mall.

Fantastic oasis amid the mega-resorts
This was our first no kids vacation in 5 years and it was worth every penny to stay at the Marley Resort. Everything is ... impeccably maintained and clean, staff is friendly and accommodating, and the room and common areas are quiet and relaxing. We had hot stone massages at the spa and [...] is hands-down the best masseuse I've ever had. The food is fantastic too, if you don't mind the wait. As with most everything else on the island, things move much slower there. All in all, we highly recommend the MRS.

Powerboat Adventures day trip to the Exuma Cays is a great day trip. 40-mile boat trip to a private island for a day of sun, snorkeling, feeding sharks and stingrays, food and drink, and very friendly hosts. Our best day of the trip.

All dining seems to be in need of faster service. Be prepared to wait for your food over an hour with mixed results on what you ordered versus what you receive. This pertains to dining out. The hotel is better with regards to accuracy. The island apparently moves at a different speed than we are used to.

Nice secluded hotel
The resort was close to the airport and the people were very friendly. But the service at the restaurant was REALLY SLOW. ... Breakfast took at least 30-40 minutes to get "Island toast"(French toast)out to us. Had dinner at the restaurant and it took FOREVER!!! Food was great tho but if I knew that it was going to take over an hour to get to us we would've had a snack before hand. And desert took 35 minutes to get out to us. Be prepared to spend money. It's pretty pricy. I recommend a rental car or scooter to get around. Buses are ok but they stop at 7pm and be careful crossing the street. This hotel was really nice but go out and do stuff like walk around downtown and do excursions...there not much to do in the resort itself...actually there's nothing to do except go to the beach which is beautiful, but there is so much more to see. Wish there was a workout facility...the Bally's was a walk away and across the crazy busy street...be careful!!!! Bug spray is a MUST!!! Definately try the "Fish Fry" and the "Oyster Bar"...I also recommend the Exuma Cays excursion.

We had a wonderful stay at the Marley! It was what we were looking for - great location with character and personal touches ... those big hotels don't have. And the food was great and reasonally priced.

Marley Resort & Spa
The resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff extremely friendly. The only improvement would be that the food and drink ... service is extremely slow. Secondly, there is no chance to eat in between meal service. I would suggest that the bar serve a menu anytime during the day. The staff is wonderful, the food is excellent, but don't go to dinner when you are hungry. Go well before to time the wait out better. That is truly the ONLY item that we saw needing improvement. We will definitely go again.

Best resort in the caribbean!
Good day to all and thank you for taking the time to read my review of the Marley Resort & Spa. Before discussing my overall ... impression of the resort, you, the readers, should be aware that I have travelled through the Caribbeans for the past 15 years and have stayed in resorts ranging from all-inclusive "giant" clubs (i.e. Sandals, Breezes etc...) to much smaller and unique hotels (Bay Gardens). Combined with the fact that I have also travelled to many of the islands (from Curacao to St Lucia, from St Martin to Barbados and countless more...) I consider myself informed enough to pass judgment on resorts. Based on these premisses, please consider the following comments to be rational and without any bias. It is my hope that if you are contemplating staying at this resort that you will find my comments to be of great influence as to whether you will book or not. (1) The resort is a 10 minute drive from the airport, which means you won't be wasting any time getting there (i.e. more beach time!). It is also located very close to restaurants, amenities etc. Basically a hop and skip to any amenities you may need. It is located at the end of a BEAUTIFUL beach (cable beach) which really makes it feel as though it was your very own private beach as there are almost no visitors. In short 10/10 for location(2) The grounds are beautifully kepts and the hotel itself is crystal clean, decorated in good taste, very unique in its own way. Pools are the best (2 small ones) and the jacuzzi/hotub is actually very hot! first time ever I find it enjoyable! In short hotel is 9/10(3) Staff is very friendly, very courteous and will go out of their way to accomodate you. They understand what client services is all about and it shows. A special thank you to [...] (aka Platinum) for his help in assisting me with various requests (way to go [...]). [...] was also a "joy". She went out of her way to faciliate a "Jamaican" breakfast for my wife, and even took care of "preparing for conservation" a starfish for my daughter. [...] understands what good public relations are all about and how important the "human" element can be with visitors. As such she will already have gained my entire family as REPEAT customers. Service level is 10/10. Small resort with small number of guests can CUSTOMIZE your very own level of service and attention. By the way, a big hello [...] from Alexis, Sienna and Paula (Sienna says hi to you goddaughter [...]-see picture)At the end of the day, this resort is more expensive than the "average" hotel such as Sheraton etc. But let's not compare oranges to apples. This is a unique resort, brand new, well-trained and friendly staff on a gorgeous beach. When you walk in you feel as though this is actually "your" house and do not feel at all as though you were staying at a hotel. I will be vacationing again in September and before going there I was thinking of going back to Barbados. Well those plans are now shelved. I found paradise. It's in Nassau. It's on a white sand beach. it's in front of crystal clear water. it's where the people smile and take care of you. It's where the Marleys are. Signed Alexis Klein. For any further information on the resort pls email me at klein_alexis@hotmail.com.
