Nice Rooms, Great Food
Floridian Honeymooner Oct 28, 2009
The staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The only complaint is the view of the mountains ... was obstructed by trees and there was landscaping renovations in the back forest during our stay. The restaurants were fantastic. It is further away from the Grand Canyon than we expected.

The Cottage Place provided an excellent dining experience with unique and sophisticated menu choices. It is located in a refurbished 1909 bungalow style house. To soften the blow to the budget, they do have a twilight menu with reduced pricing.

Good as I remembered!
Wired under the Sun Aug 18, 2009
It has been over a decade since we had last stayed here, but we hoped some things wouldn't change over the years. We were ... relieved to find it was better than we remembered. We arrived an hour early and were allowed to check in. Our room met our expectations for cleanliness and comfort. Nicely decorated with LCD TV on the wall. Hotel is situated near everything including the railroad line which passes through downtown Flagstaff but we never heard any sound during the night. Only .25 mi from a grocery market with the cheapest auto fuel in town. On Friday night, there was a classical guitarist serenading the diners in the onsite restaurant. Discovered a well marked 2+ mile hiking trail in the private forest that provided a great workout. Just a relaxing and troublefree stay.

Our experience at this hotel was great. When we first pulled into the parking area, we weren't sure what to expect because ... the sign out front and the buildings looked a little older, but once inside, our experience was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful. Great for a romantic stay. It had a large tub, and antique furniture in the sitting room. And the bed was really comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again.

Suite not so Sweet Deal
Michele Jul 29, 2009
The hotel was nice, staff friendly and helpful. King suite was not truly a suite. The sitting area offered a small love ... seat which did not pull out to a bed, no roll away beds available. Our son slept on the floor on a few blankets. We switched to a large queen room (two beds) and this room seemed larger than the suite. Very comfortable. We felt the second room was better value than the suite!

Clean, spacious rooms
Traveler May 25, 2009
This is the second time I stayed at Little America. I love the clean, spacious rooms. Some kids were running in the hallway ... in the evening. I don't have kids and I was not too happy about it, but it was quiet after nine. No loud kids when I stayed there for the first time months ago. There is a forest and an one-mile trail in it right behind the hotel. It is great to have a stroll after hours of drive. Although the interstate is close by, you don't hear it in the room. I would go back anytime.

It was a fine place to stay for a couple of nights. Even though it was near the highway and train tracks, we heard little ... noise. It's more convenient to downtown than some of the others. The 1PM checkout allowed us to do a hike in the morning that we couldn't have done otherwise.

Biggest Hotel Room that wasn't a suite!
ElaineP May 14, 2009
Although the French Provincial ivory furniture reminded me of the 1960's, the room was huge and spotless. There was a ... separate vanity area with sink outside the enormous bathroom, which had a sink also. Although we faced the interstate, the noise was minimal inside. My husband heard the train whistle once during the night, but it didn't bother me. Dinner in the restaurant was decently priced, but my dish was average, at best. If accessability is an issue, travelers should call before booking. We were in the 2nd unit and entry was only by stairs. No elevators to the 2nd floor. All staff were extremely pleasant and courteous.

Breakfast buffet is pricey, but for $9, you can order one of the standard combination breakfast plates, and the price includes coffee or other breakfast beverage. By the time you drive to the nearby Denny's, with coffee and breakfast priced separately, it may cost the same.
