L-Hoste-- great value, great location
Beachy Aug 28, 2009
L'Hoste is an awesome value-- nice, clean rooms with kitchenette, a great breakfast everyday featuring fresh fruit, coffee, ... yogurts, fresh pastries and baguettes-- very French! Steps away from Orient Beach, and the fantastic, very French Orient Village-- a great place to hang out and dine in the evenings.
Traveler type: Couples
There is a great market and grocery just behind the hotel which features fresh baguette and pastries, home made pizzas and all sorts of take-out foods for those on a budget.

Great Beach
30's travelers Aug 22, 2009
This hotel is in a great location. The kitchenet is very small and not well furnished. The shower is difficult to use as ... there is nothing to hold it and no curtin. The breakfast is great, lots of fresh fruits and pastries. The resteraunt is very expensive as is all the food in St. Martin. This is a great hotel for the price and location. Warning, lots of topless and some nude sunbathers, especially early in the AM. If I was bringing children I would stay at a different beach on the island.

Rent a car for the time your there, you can find cheaper places to eat and shop and it is not that much more expensive than paying for the transfers.

A very enjoyable trip

We really enjoyed our stay in St Maarten!! Tons of fun and beautiful beaches. The staff was very helpful!! The rooms were ... clean and spacious. Also, take note that we were traveling in what was considered "off season". Many experiences are not open on Saturdays or Sundays...they need to be done during the week, just plan accordingly. It is worth it to upgrade from the garden view...not really much of a view.

Parking is a challange in the shopping districts. The open air markets are where you will find the best bargins!! The boat ride to St.Barts is a must..well worth the money!! St Barts is probabley the most beautiful place ever. Pricey, but worth it!! Take note...if there is a potential for sea sickness be prepared...this seem to consume half of the boat riders.

quiet and compact area, wide room
Hey Jun 29, 2009
Staffs are friendly, room was with 2 king beds and enough space. Breakfast was included with a lot of fruits and very good in ... starting a day schedule. Rooms were everyday cleaned while we're having breakfast, and very well organized. Not many Restaurants around the area were open during lunch time, but there is a convenient small supermarket.

L'Hoste Hotel was very convenient to Orient Beach. Our room was also very spacious. The staff was very accommodating and ... helpful with all our needs as well as providing good information on nearby excursions. If traveling from the U.S., it would be wise to bring electrical outlet converters as the outlets are European. The hotel did let us borrow electrical converters from them, however.

Pinel Island (in the Cul de Sac area)is a short drive from our hotel where you catch a water taxi to the island. The water taxi ride is $7 round trip. The island is beautiful with a few restaurants and shops. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent for the day.
