Very Nice Alternative to Large Hotels

Would recommend to a friend!

Met at the door, helpful hints for transportation, dining alternatives within walking distance, description of local ... activities withing walking. Although it is an older property, all that was lacking was some deferred maintenance (weather stripping, caulking) but very clean and quaint, 50 yards to ocean but blocked from ocean winds; better than "on the beach".

The room was moldy and gross. Even though it was cheap, it was not cheap enough for such a nasty hotel. The pool was small, ... and there was a bar serving disgusting food off the grill. They did not have draft beer or anything any of the other hotels did, so they were selling canned drinks. Hotel room was old and moldy, and we actually left feeling nautious. The kitchenette had a small fridge that didn't work and a 20 yr old microwave. The balcony had a leak from the air conditioner which made noise all night. Bathroom was dirty also - didn't even want to shower in it. Also check in isn't until 4 which is a little later than most hotels. They only serve breakfast during your stay, and there are no vending machines for food at all so you are subject to nasty hamburgers and hotdogs, with a side of disgusting penne pasta with fake cheese (mac n cheese) with some nasty beans out of a can ---- this is their "tiki bar grill lunch" GROSS

Rooms smelled of mold, lumpiest pillows ive ever seen, so bring your own! Other than that, it was just an average motel with ... a very nice pool and tiki bar.

Great location, tremendous view (sunrise was awesome!)- with the ocean view room. Across the street from beach, access ... immediately available (don't have to walk down the street). Easy walk or short drive to pier and restaurants/nightlife. Rooms just 'OK', but not up to par. Peeling paint, a/c soaked floor by window, and on balcony. No blankets on bed, called at night to get some, said they'd be up. 45 minutes later called again and was told I need to come get them. Day staff, though, seemed cheery and helpful. Noisy bar (at night) next to pool, fine for younger travelers, maybe not so much for elderly or children.

This hotel was a little old but for the price I was more than pleased. The staff was great, their was an excellent bar on ... site and a nice little resteraunt as well. It was also a step away from the beach and I was able to watch the sunrise from my balcony. I will surely go back!

Lauderdale by the Sea is like Key West meets Naples or Ft. Myers. Loved the area. The hotel is a great value at a very ... affordable price. Rooms are a bit "tired", but clean and quiet. The staff was great upon check in and even offered a 1pm check out on Sunday. FANTASTIC location. Walking distance to the pier, great bars and restaurants. Will definitely return.

The first room we got was full of mold all over the walls. Once we went down to the front desk we were able to change rooms ... to another one. The second room was a little better at least no mold. The room was large and once we asked for the control for the tv and the comforter for the bed it was all good. The tub was a little rusty but no big deal. The hotel is an old hotel but in pretty good shape. The pool is small. Had a great bar downstairs and lunch by the grill.

Hotel needs renov.

The room was ok for the price, but could use some serious TLC. The tub in our room was horrendous and showering was ... impossible. Pics on-line are mis-leading; it is not located directly on the beach but rather a block away; i.e. their are no beach views as they claim. Overall for the location and price it was 'ok'

The hotel room was dirty and in disrepair. The TV didn't work. No refrigerator. The toilet was missing the top of the tank. ... Noisy and low-class guests. Checked out early and moved to a better hotel.

We got an 'ocean view' room and it was great. The balcony was really nice, even though the chain lock was backwards and the ... door was almost impossible to lock. The 'resort' is not on the beach, you have to cross a small road to get there, but it's only a few feet away from the sand. We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. And free parking! No wireless connection in rooms. You have to go to the hotel lobby to get a signal or use their lobby computer.

For the price...its ok

We were there for about two weeks and we weren't very pleased with the place, it ok, more for the young kids. The hotel had a ... bar and a restaurant didnt much a selection. This is place that you need a car, its very close to attractions. The bar played music from 11am - 9pm.

Very sullen girl on the desk on arrival not welcoming at all. Rooms are large and quite comfortable, i had an ocean view ... which was lovely and a balcony, i had booked a smoking room and was put in a non smoking one but was provided with an ashtray and told it was ok to smoke./ Dinner in the restaurant was aufull not the waitresses fault whom i tipped extra for her charm, had spinach dip which was sour, chicken caesar salad with way too much dressing and not enough cheese, and hot tea which was luke warm, the wireless internet which i was informed does not work in the rooms didnt work in the restaurant or Lobby either where it was supposed to work, and the computer in the lobby was also not working which was a problem for me as i needed to send email regarding a meeting i had been in all day, no alternative was offered, the Bar closed at 9pm and as it was raining there was nowhere to sit in the bar that wasnt within earsot of the deafening Juke Box couldnt hold a conversation, The hotel looks tired, and in desperate need of some TLC.. the genltman on the desk the following morning was much nicer and very helpful when i needed directions

My one night stay at the hotel was decent. The room smelled good and was clean. There was no soap in the bathroom, but they ... provided me with some from the front desk. The remote for the TV did not work, but the TV got a lot of channels. There was a lot of noise from cars passing by on the street at all hours. The beach was right across the street, and there were good local restaurants within three blocks.

second time there in 2 years staff was great, beach excellent 5th floor ocean view was fantastic, room was always spotless ... when we came back.
