We had a good experience and would definitely stay here again. The location and private beach were a plus and there was ... something for our entire family to enjoy. The only 2 complaints we had were that the bathroom was very small (could use 2 in that size of a suite)and the floors could have been cleaner.

Noisy location, but great for families.
Mother of 3 Aug 20, 2009
This hotel is great for families. As a single mom with three children, ages 2, 9 and 11, I was actually able to relax at ... this hotel! The room we had was part of the hotel, as opposed to a separate townhome, and was very spacious. I would definitely recommend a room with a loft if you have more than one child with you. Since eating out was out of the question in my situation, the kitchen was essential. It had everything we needed and there is a grocery store and drugstore located nearby. One complaint about this hotel and room was its location. So. Lake Tahoe has become VERY crowded and our room was close enough to the street for noise to be an issue. We basically couldn't keep the balcony doors open and watch TV or sleep. The townhomes are located further from the street and probably don't have this issue. But then there is the price... My only other complaint is that while the room itself was very nice, there was a minor maintenance issue. They basically need to replace their outdoor chairs for heaven's sake! Ours were missing enough slats and had enough shards of plastic hanging off the arms that I was worried about a kid falling through or cutting themselves on the things. Overall, if I were to stay in So. Lake Tahoe again, I'd stay here. I'd request a room away from the street, but I liked the convenience of having the hotel lobby nearby.

The Tahoe Queen has a nice 2.5 hour cruise around Emerald Bay. About right for kids, it's departure is right down the street. The hotel offers a slight discount for adults, kids 2 and under are free. It was convenient to buy tickets at the hotel and not have to wait in line when we got there.

Lakeland Villiage
Tani Aug 17, 2009
We stayed at Lakeland Village for 5 nights while celebrating our anniversary. Had a great time, although next time I would ... opt to spend the additional money to be in one of the condos rather than the studio rooms. The room was nice, but it would be nice to walk out the door to the grass and open area rather than an enclosed hallway.

Pretty good location
Taryn Jul 20, 2009
My husband and I went for 2 nights to get away from town. We happened to go during the celebrity golf tournament so prices ... were high everywhere. We weren't in our room too much. The rooms are older, a little smelly- nice little kitchenette (which we didn't use). Pool was very small and crowded with kids (and did not feel heated like I thought was advertised). Location was good- about 1 mile from casinos and golf course. We're interested in checking out the 4-5 bedroom condos for rent for next time we come up in the winter.

Family of 4 Jul 18, 2009
The location is great and it's a short drive to Stateline casinos. Heidi's restaurant right next door is a big plus (no ... breakfast served at hotel). The (heated) kiddie pool was great for little kids under 6 years since the pool is only 1.5 feet deep. The rooms are a bit dated, but the location is great and the private beach is a short walk away. Overall, we'd recommend this hotel to families traveling with small kids.

The condominiums were very close to everything in the area. The beach was enjoyable and would have been nicer if the weather ... had been warmer (went in June for the America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride). The rooms were clean, but the furnishings and style were older than what appears when looking at the condos online.

"dated, not what I expected, misleading"
Julie Jun 12, 2009
The hotel was much more dated than I expected. We traveled June 3-7, 2009 The "shuttle bus" was not available as advertised ... (running only a few hours on the weekend). We did use the shuttle one night for a wedding. The driver was very grumpy. He was scheduled to pick up the bride and groom from the reception but failed to wait five minutes (even though he knew they were coming) and left w/out them. When I asked one male desk clerk if there were trails by the water, he stated "the sand". Each room is privately owned so it is the luck of the draw on what you get, no consistency. Our room was clean and basic, very small bathroom.

Boone May 4, 2009
We originally booked the lodge but found that it was located on the highway, the accomodations were nice but it was rather ... noisy. They upgraded at a small extra fee to a condo closer to the water front which was excellent, very quiet and cozy. The staff was superb. Walking distance to restaurants and second away from the lake for an evening stroll and glass of wine. We'll be back.

Great Trip and Great Place to Stay!
Ryan Oct 17, 2008
We traveled to South Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon. The decision for this hotel was because it is located right on the beach. ... The property is right on the beach. We were in a 1 bedroom suite with a loft and could see some of the lake from our living area. Our room had a cabin feel and made us feel very comfortable. The room was also very clean. The staff was very friendly and willing to help us with anything. We were uncertain of places to eat and the staff did not disappoint us with their suggestions. We enjoyed dining at Blue Dog Pizza, Fire and Ice, Blue Bistro (on the pier next door) and Sato Sushi Bar. I would recommend this property to anyone and hope to visit again someday.

lakeland Village Resort is situated in a great location in South Lake Tahoe. It is right on the lake (though the lake is ... cool for swimming), a short walk from some fine restuarants and a longer walk to the casinos on the state line. The resort also has its own shuttles which were very handy in getting you around town, especially to the casinos and other South Lake Tahoe attractions. The resort amenities were also very good (i.e. pools, hot tubs and workout facilities) and if you enjoy playing tennis, like I do, they have 2 high quality courts at the facility as well.

Nice get-a-way place!
Shirley Aug 6, 2008
Lakeland Village Resort was a very nice get-a-way for us. We stayed in the Lodge portion of this resort. We did not have a ... view of the lake. You'll have to stay in a condo for that. However, it is a very nice short walk to the beach. The room was very clean and spacious for the 2 of us. It would sleep 4, but might be a bit cramped. We loved having a balcony (they all have these.) The room was stocked with dishes and the maids cleaned them for us! The pool and spa were clean and always working. They are sticklers about the 10 pm closing time. Shuttle service was great. Our wait for pick up or drop off was minimal. This is the very best way to get around Tahoe, because there is little parking in the town. The parking lot at the hotel was well lit and security patroled. Which we liked since we had our kayaks tyed on top of the car. We never had any worries. We will be returning I'm sure.
Traveler type: Business

The room was very nice! Comfortable bed, comfortable seating inside as well as on the balcony. Pool and spa, very clean and ... convenient bathrooms. Beach was within walking distance and very nice! The shuttle was the ultimate. It was available within 15 minutes to take you where you wanted to go and pick up as well. We went to Zephor Park and used the shuttle. In the past we had to drive our own car and pay for parking...which is now $8. FRIENDLY staff, great room, fully supplied kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, blender. dishes, etc. Great stay!
