Nice location near the lake, nice views, nice spacious room all around. My main issues were parking fees, very little ... parking near the hotel but you still pay the parking fees, and they do allow pets however not good if you have allergies like my children.

We were very pleased with this resort and would definitely stay there again. We had the two bed room two bath unit. It was ... very clean, comfortable, cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The location was great too-right next to the beach and restaurants-It was about a 3/4 mile walk to the casinos, shops and gondola. This a great place for either a couple or family with kids.

Close to shopping, but as expected, very expensive. Gondola only opened Friday and Saturday during off season and $30 each too boot! Of course our stay was Sunday-Wednesday so no gondola ride even if we paid the $30.

Nice room, cozy, but next to spa (just bad luck I guess) Like other reviews have noted no maid service unless you stay more ... than five (5) days Had to put garbage into hallway for pickup unless you wanted a smelly room Staff seemed to have an bad attitude; snitty Timeshare pitch only once and that was enough

Wonderful Experience
Cookies Aug 16, 2009
The location of the hotel is great, convenient and close to a lot of good restaurants. The lake is just a walk away where you ... can do watersports activities like jet ski, boat rentals, canoeing, paddleboats, etc. We rode the Tahoe Queen for the Emerald Bay Cruise and our experience was wonderful and relaxing as we cruise the Lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We also did the Gondola ride at Heavenlys and I would highly recommend it. My daughters and I (ages 21 and 19)just enjoyed it so much, which for me was well worth it with a breath taking view of Lake Tahoe. It is beautiful and just magnificent! As for the restaurants, they are just everywhere and on our first night, we had dinner at Fresh Ketch. Food was really good, we ordered fresh oysters as appetizers, the Bahia and Kumai oysters were great. The Riva Grill is just next to the hotel and had lunch there, dining with lake view and food was also good. We enjoyed our stay even just for 3 days, but I wish it was longer. The only disadvantage about the hotel is parking since they charge $12.00 per day for valet parking or even if you park yourself. There is limited parking at the hotel so one evening we have to park at the parking lot across the street which is inconvenient and you still get charged $12.00. Overall, it was a great vacation!

Enjoyed the Stay
SB Jul 14, 2009
We were in the wing that has been renovated so our rooms were gorgeous. We had a one bedroom. Location is great. Easy ... access to the beach, great food, 20 minute walk to the casinos, spa services & valet. Parking is $12 per day whether you valet or not. Staff was very friendly. I did not see where you could get a lake view from the rooms. From the pool, the mountains are visable but not the lake. The beach is less then a 2 minute walk. Rooms were very clean. You only receive maid service if you stay longer then six days. That seems a bit weak since you are paying a fairly good price. I would stay again but look for a better rate and make sure to request the renovated rooms. This is a time share and they will incent you to go through the tour.

Reve Grill was amazing. Average price per head would is about $35 a head without alcohol. They do have corkage service. Views are absolutely gorgeous of the lake from the deck. Reservations need to be made ahead for Friday and Saturday night. Kitchen 19 at top of Harvey's best view of the whole lake and mountains. Has corkage service- but you will want to drive or take a cab. 5 minutes via auto. Attire dressy. Price high for food quality but worth it for the view.

I got a great price through Orbiz in this hotel. Online review has comment about pushing hotel staff for timeshare. But they ... just asked us once, not so push. Initially, they gave me a room which has been occupied by another couple. But they resolved this quickly. The new room/suite we got is perfect and the kids love it. It has everything you need for a family. We had a great time. The only thing is that there is no daily cleanning. Only clean after we left.Overall this is not bad.

Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort Review
rufo Jun 12, 2009
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I am impressed from the front desk, ground staff, valet, to the house maid they ... are all very friendly and welcoming. The place is very clean, quiet, and well kept. I did not find anything wrong with this place with the exception of parking. Although, I had hard time finding parking, valet service is always available at no charge(i Wish they had emphasize that there is not enough parking for all the guest that valet service is available the minute I checked in). Anyway, I just left my car in front lobby and valet took care of parking. When I needed the car, I called the number and in 5 minutes, the car is ready. I am truly impressed by the valet service due to their excellent service. Overall, I want to go back to that place again and I will highly recommend to my friends.

The "Hotel/Resort" experience itself was great, very nice facility, great lcation, great views, quiet, easy access, etc. I ... was doing family things, a wedding, no time to use the facilities. Parking ought to be included but isn't - pricey but given the regular cost of this facility I guess not out of line. My only means of staying was to book thru Orbitz, otherwise the price is a killer.

Great Rooms-Very Bad Customer Relations
BC - Well Traveled Jun 5, 2009
Excellent price, location, accommodations... but - Reservation Staff particularily, was NOT professional, punctual, ... efficient; ie., it took 3 representatives to check us in - at 1:30 room was not ready, but I was required to complete hotel registration form & huge damage deposit on MC, then at 4 pm (exact check-in time) I phoned from another guest's room (time-share owner) & was informed room would be ready at 4:30, I phoned again at 4:30, was told room would be ready at 4:35. At this time I proceeded to resversations again, accompanied by timeshare owners & was told a room 'might' be ready in another 5 minutes. Owner had requested & been assured several days prior to this that I be housed on same floor - this would not happen. Day 2 - we attended an 'open house', which turned out to be a 'timeshare' heavy sales pitch for 3 hours, by 3 different hotel sales personnel! This experience was dreadful, comprising of a huge conference room filled with tables of sales people & loud music pitching thousands of dollars 'offers', all of which were not put in writing other than scribbled offers, which kept decreasing to get us onboard. We were to sign & buy immediately or loose what ever it was being offered - 1 day sale! HORRIBLE experience! Renting here is better value for money than owning. Day 3 - I was phoned by a staff member inquiring if I'd received a 'welcome package' & invitation to the 'open house'... duh. Bottom line - Customer Service is nonexistent at this hotel other than 1 valet person upon departing. This is a lovely hotel, but...if you have a hard shell, stay here, if not, don't. Good value for money, but staff is miserable & nonaccommodating - Management staff at the hotel are not proactive & have no better concept of 'customer satisfaction' than staff under them.

Blue Water Bistro - charming, intimate restaurant, located right on the wharf, 2nd floor, over Lk Tahoe. Interesting choices of dinners & professional service ($20 - $30 range), corking fee ($15), which is a lovely, gratious feature if you've done a wine tour or have a special bottle, as wine list is so-so.

Great Place but Terrible Service
We travel often Apr 22, 2009
My Husband and I checked in a few minutes after 5pm on Saturday for a one night stay. Check in took over 20 minutes. I ... waited for approx 5 minutes before I was asked to step forward. I then stood for another 5 minutes while the gentleman went to the back to see if our room was ready. This to me did not make sense since check-in time starts at 4pm. After we had made it to our room the rest of our stay was ok. Until we decided to go to the bar for a drink on Sunday AM. The bartender did not greet us or serve us a drink. We sat there at the table and asked him if would be able to serve us. He said just a minute and did not return. We sat there for approx 20 minutes before we came to the conclusion that he would not be returning and we should go ahead and meet with the rest of our party at Harvey's.

Stay Away...not worth it!!!
Traveler Mar 10, 2009
Don't even think about going to this place. They may be on sale but it's not worth it. The staff will pressure you to attend ... their presentations, you have to pay $12 for parking, and god forbid you forget something in the room...you will NEVER see it again. Bunch of thiefs at this hotel. We forgot a jacket and when we called to get it back and what a surprise...no one has seen a jacket like that! Avoid this place unless you want to be harrassed by time share people and lousy service. The rooms we had was a suite but the smallest suite I have ever seen.

Accomodations were very nice. Big bathroom, kitchen facilities, luxurious linens. My only reservation in recommending this ... hotel is that there is no daily maid service. A Time-Share Hotel
Clif Apr 22, 2008
I did not realize this was a time share hotel. The staff treats the guests as if they have no other options; a take it or ... leave it attitude. A quick briefing: the coffee shop is closed on saturday and Sunday mornings, it is needed for some sort of owner's rally - so only coffee from the guest room. Of course they issue one 4-cup pack of coffee grounds for your entire stay, should you need more please purchase at the gift shop. The room is cleaned only on Sunday. Should more cleanings be desired - there is an additional charge. Of course I allowed myself to having to take the 90-minute presentation (mistake). During the hotel tour I was shown rooms with beds about 20 times comfier than mine, the salesman told me these rooms were not for renters, but for owners of the time-share - nice. There were also problems with the Internet connection, which also came with an additional fee. There is a McDonald's with free hot spots across the parking lot (+ coffee drinks on the weekend mornings) and they act like they want your business.
