Huge disappointment
krissynkids Jul 24, 2009
For our family vacation we stayed three nights at this hotel. The decision was based on prior reviews and resort ... description. My family and I were so disappointed by the rude staff and small inconvenient rooms. The room lights were minimal and had low florescent bulbs. There was not enough light to put my contacts in or make coffee. The bathrooms are very tiny and water does not drain well from the sink, shower, or toilet. I think this is so you do not use much water as you have to turn it off often to let it drain. Pool is small for the hotel size and the second and third nights the pool lights were not turned on and it was not possible to see your kids at all and dangerous for people jumping into the water. Both nights asked staff to address, which was not done. Lighting throughout the hotel grounds was minimal and not safe for even walking. Third night came back after a long & hot day to find our card key no longer worked and we were locked out. There was also another family down the hall with the same problem. Our room was not cleaned and there were no clean towels, having only half the dirty towels replaced the day before and no extra towels for swimming, as requested. Asked to speak to a manager but was sent to several people who did not know who the manager was. This was a horrible experience and to call themselves a "Resort" is a joke. The price was very expensive for one star, or less, accommodations and service. The only positive thing was the surrounding views, which the hotel had no part of.

The Lake Powell Resort is right on the water. The room was large with a seperate vanity area in the bathroom and large ... mirrors. The location is great to be on the water and away from the bustle of Page. Dining options are plentiful on-site and within a short drive to Page.

Lake is a short walk, but a must do is the Canyon River Adventures raft tour of the Colorado. Tour is all calm water with great views of the canyon below the dam.

This hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Powell, making it a great spot for taking boat tours on the lake. We ate at ... both restaurants and the food was quite good at both. Ask for a lakeview room.

The check in clerk was not friendly or welcoming at all. The dining options were poor and the employees didn't seem to care. ... The marina is not actually at the hotel. You must drive to get there. The rooms need to be updated. Not many lodging options at Lake Powell, so we only stayed one night instead of three and headed to Zion National Park in Utah. Loved the views, would not stay there again.

Denise Jul 1, 2008
We were a little disappointed with Lake Powell Resort. You basically have 3 options for dining and some of the day only 2 ... options. Also, look at your receipts. More than once, I had a Misc charge. The waitress couldn't tell me what that was for. The rooms are clean and the views are beautiful. Plan on renting a boat for a day to do your own exploring. It will be well worth it. I also recommend the hummer tour that is in Page.

Great location right on Lake Powell
Sandy May 25, 2008
Lake Powell Resort is located on the shores of Lake Powell and in the Glen Canyon National Park which makes for a great ... setting. We had a lake view room that was spacious and clean. There was a small fridge in the room and a deck outside for relaxing and watching the activity on the lake. Very nice. The front desk staff was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the location, grounds and surrounding area of the hotel and the hotel itself however we were not impressed at all with the food at the Drifwood lounge. We heard that the Rainbow room had good food.

We tried many restaurants and found that Frijoles Mexican in Page, was the best by far. Best coffee ended up being Starbucks. There are SO many wonderful things to see in a short drive from Page, Arizona like the Grand Canyon - North or South Rim, Lake Powell, Antelope Canyons, Horseshoe Bend, Vermillion Cliffs and so on. It's amazing.
