The time for breakfast was only until 9:00 am It would be nice to have it extended to 9:30 or 10:00 am When I am on ... vacation I like to sleep in.

Serious issues with this hotel

We left in early AM for the day, came back in PM, found our room door open a few inches. Housekeeping staff evidently ... finished their work and left room open all day. We told front desk, the person said "I passed your room today and noticed that...I thought it was a little odd." But nobody did anything! Thank goodness we didn't leave our GPS, camera, and other valuables in the room. Item #2: breakfast area not closely tended...we ran out of milk for cereal and coffee and lots of people left scratching their heads for 15 min. Item #3: we had an early flight out of Tampa Intl, so asked for a 4:50 AM wake up call. No call came. We had cell phone backup alarm so we made flight but asked front desk why no call, and the person (same person) said she thought 4:50 AM meant ten minutes till 6 AM!! Stay here at your own risk!

We played on Clearwater Beach and ate at Rockaway's on the Beach - terrific place!! We also played around on the St. Pete pier - two bars with good margaritas and great views, with cool shopping attractions and stuff for kids if you have them.

Rooms are large and very clean. Great centralized location for multiple activities in area -- Plays, concerts, Rays and Bucs ... games, beaches. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker were handy. Continental breakfast adequate but ended at 9:00am. Motel is difficult to see from highway -- Behind Bob Evans. Lots of dining close by. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel room was clean, and although didn't get a chance to use the pool, it looked great. The only challanging part was ... getting there from the main road as the GPS kept routing around and around the hotel...was able to get to the hotel easily with the back roads though avoiding major traffic.

Great hotel. Had good rates and a good breakfast with fresh waffles. It is located about 20 minutes from any good beaches, ... which is not that bad considering the rates of hotels closer. The hotel is located next to an airport and requires a U-turn to turn into the hotel.

We stayed at this same La Quinta about 10 years ago and found it to be clean & serviceable...nothing fancy...that's why we ... chose it this time. Big mistake! The first room smelled damp continuously, even with the AC running full blast. The bathroom looked like just clean towels were added and the sink wiped out. The tub bottom was very dirty. I bought a cleaner at the local store to spray the tub because there was no way I was getting into it with my bare feet. Both of us coughed throughout the night and became congested. In the morning we saw black mold creeping across the ceiling right above our beds! We didn't notice it the previous day because we just checked in and left...then returned late at night. No wonder we were coughing! We moved to another room, that wasn't as quiet, but was much cleaner by comparison. This room, however, did not have matress pads on the beds, they ran out of towels and we had to call late at night to have them delivered. We also wanted our linens changed, putting the appropriate card on the pillows.....and the bed was just made with the same linens. I was glad we were there for a very short stay....three nights. On a positive note, the staff was helpful in getting us another room. The location is very hard to access, but it's not their fault...it's Florida's highway department that messed up access. Overall....a totally disappointing and somewhat distressing stay! Molds, mildews are very hazardous to respiratory health.

We found the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was disappointing - Hampton Inns has a much better one. The ... common areas show the wear and tear of allowing pets, but the room wasn't bad. Our door didn't close completely on its own, and the A/C unit was really loud and woke us up when it clunked on and off. The hot tub was great, and the pool was okay.

Since I just came in from a long day of flying, I really had to use the restroom.The gentlemen at the frotn desk knew what he ... was doing becuase it was an easy and quick process when checking in. The first thing I did when I reched my room was go to the restrom. While sitting on the toilet, I saw what appeared to curly (possible pubic) hairs on the floor and one on the tub side. I knocked the one of the tub off with a towel and covered all of them with a towel. There are positive things. Good location, a very quiet stay, fast wi-fi. Breakfast needed major help-very limited in choices.

Staff was super friendly and hotel was decent but room had horrible smell. Lost power at hotel for a couple of hours due to ... storm. Definitely needed more emergency lighting, was a little scary without power.

MISTAKE IN RESERVATIONS

somehow there was a mistake in the reservations---because of the late arrival I needed only one night at the La Quinta ... because my appointments ,were 40 miles away. The La Quinta said I was booded in for three nights and could not do a refund or credit and I needed to talk to Orbitz for a refund. [...]

In Tampa with the Family

Room was comfortable and clean. The location is good and for the price I can't complaint. Even thought they allow pets we ... never smelled them. But it did trigger my allergies. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are allergic to dog's or cat's hair. Other than that, It was good. We didn't have a chance to use the pool area but there was always people enjoing it. Breakfast was OK.

A very good place to stay for the $. Most of the staff was very friendly & accomidating.The breckfast was one of the best I ... have ever recived with a hotel room. The pool, hot tub & excersise room wher all good. The location is very convinent, with quite a few resturants within walking distance. I would stay again.
