Enjoyable, clean, pleasant
Judie Oct 19, 2009
Went to "Women of Faith" conference. The hotel was within walking distance of the conference. Very convenient and the staff ... were helpful and friendly. The only problem I found was getting to the 1st floor with suitcases. If you have more than one piece of baggage and (if you are by yourself) had to do in more than one trip because of the stairs. However, all in all, enjoyed my stay.

Excellent facility for the price
Visiting Mom Oct 18, 2009
The hotel is older and when I saw the outside, I was a little skeptical, but the room was excellent(wish they would get rid ... of the old fashioned bed spreads though). It was absolutely clean; towels were great; wi-fi was perfect; staff was extremely friendly and helpful; and the proximity to the Max to go downtown was perfect. [...] I will definitely return to this hotel.

Went down to Portland, OR. for a Pogues concert and really enjoyed being close to everything but far enough away to not be ... bothered by the city congestion. 24 hour access to the pool is fantastic!

NO HOT WATER!
Marney Oct 10, 2009
Stayed two nights visiting family in Portland. Good location; comfortable, clean room; good breakfast; but tried to get ... something other than luke warm water morning, noon and night, and never got it. Not warm enough to even be comfortable showering. Talked to the staff and they used the excuse that it was an old facility as the reason. Didn't make sense to me!

The staff are friendly and very helpful. They have fresh cookies in the afternoon! LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!!!You can get ... everywhere from here on transit or on foot. I felt secure knowing a security guard was watching the parking areas at night. Just be sure to take earplugs because of street noise.

You can get to everywhere from here! The MAX train is two blocks away, and it will get you to the ZOO, downtown, chinatown and the airport. The Convention center is eacy walking distance. You can catch a shuttle to the OMSI at the Convention Center. LLoyds center shopping is three block's walk.

Not fantastic, but very convenient
Wandering Traveler Aug 10, 2009
Probably wouldn't have liked the hotel if it weren't for Portland's phenomenal mass transit system (which is about 2 blocks ... away from the hotel, and is a straight shot from PDX). Don't expect first class amenities, but it's very convenient (for the price) if you're just looking for a place to stay while visiting Portland.

Great location and ammenities
Sang Jul 7, 2009
Great location, great price. The room was over-scented with the smell of those room deodorizers, but once inside, we got ... used to it quickly and didn't even notice it. It also came with a fridge, microwave, and free internet, as well as free parking. The free breakfast is mostly carbs and low-protein (sorry, no scrambled eggs, bacon or sausages), but you can make your own waffles! It was easy to navigate the city using the tourist map we got from the front desk, and we enjoyed our stay very much-- especially the many places there were to eat at!

There are so many eateries to choose from! Look online for good places to eat for any type of food you like. We ate a delectable Thai/Vietnamese meal at Pok-Pok, and had some surprisingly delicious to-go dishes from the numerous food-carts located on Alder and SW 10th Street in downtown Portland!

Kimberly Feb 4, 2008
We just went down to Portland from Bremerton for the weekend and the location of the hotel was perfect! It was close to all ... major highways and the MAX station. It was very easy to find our way around and there were plenty of restaurants & other dining options around. The continental breakfast was great too! The staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable too! We stayed here once before and we will definitely stay again on our next trip down to Portland!

The Lloyd Center is a good walk or if you prefer a very short drive away. The Red Robin restaurant is across the street as well as a Starbucks, Denny's, Burgerville, & Subway...all within walking distance of the hotel!

George Jun 17, 2007
The Quinta Inn Portland Convention Center was very clean and comfortable, and the room more than large enough for one person. ... Less than a five minute walk to downtown transport; in fact a healthy walker can get downtown on foot in 20 minutes. I wasn't taken with the breakfast: cereal, hard boiled egg and optional fresh cooked waffle, but I suppose this is typical fare for a cheap hotel. However there are several eating options right on the doorstep. Location ideal for the Convention Center - 5 minutes on foot.

Paul May 22, 2007
They are downtown and well located. The room had two Queen beds, TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot. They did not have ... a secure place to put valuables, but said not to keep them in the room.We did not know it is pet friendly, which was only a problem when the dog next door liked to bark a lot. The city is easy to navigate. That part of the state is well worth looking at.
