The check in went smooth and the staff was great. Professional, courteous, and addressed concerns I had with the room. I ... didn't like the cigarette smell that inundated the hallways but the plus was the room did not smell like cigarettes. They were able to accommodate me with cab service from the hotel and made sure it had base access. Overall great stay, enjoyed their continental breakfast each morning.

While there the ease of finding a place to eat (Denny's next door and Ruby Tuesday's across the street) make this a good ... place for those on business. For a family it is about 15 miles to the beach but a semi-centered location for the numerous attractions. Freeway/Interstate access was fabulous for all directions wishing to head!

The staff was very helpful and willing in helping with any info I needed. I was on a mission to get an apartment in Norfolk ... and they told me where I should and shouldn't go. Breakfast was ok, except there wasn't too much variety, they werelimited by the space they had. If I had to go there again I would.

An oldie, but no so goodie...

The hotel is an older hotel, and in need of some TLC. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. However, the cleaning ... staff was not too detail oriented when it came to cleaning my room. Upon arrival, my dresser was pulled away from the wall. I'm not exactly sure why, but I found a screw nearby and my TV was fuzzy on several channels, so maybe they were working on it prior to my arrival. In the bathroom, I noticed a piece of toilet paper (TP) in the corner by the door when I arrived. It was there when I left. Behind the bathroom door looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in "who knows how long". There was hair, dust, and dirt. After my first night, the room wasn't completely cleaned. The washcloth by the sink wasn't replaced, and the coffee I left from the morning was still there. The noise level in the halls at the hotel was excessively loud at all hours of the night. I'm not sure if there was a party going on or what, but I got very little sleep which didn't bode well for me the next day.

Good location. Needs help on maintenance such as fixing the after hours key access door which didn't shut OR was stuck so ... tight that it was very difficult to open. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast Buffet was second rate. Deserves a 2 star rating or less.

I went to vist a friend for her birthday. Very close to her house plus we went to the clubs and it was only a 10 min drive to ... get there. Hotel was okay. LIked the size of the room except for the small bathroom. Breakfast choice was poor but there is a Dennys right next door.

Room was very clean; staff were friendly and helpful; breakfast was simple fare, but offered a wide variety of breakfast ... foods (hot/cold cereal, fresh waffles, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit). The Inn is close to the airport and near shopping and dining. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I booked this hotel at the last minute due to a family emergency that brought us to Norfolk, VA. After a long ... flight, we were relieved to find that we had a nice room with a clean, comfortable bed. We wish they would have checked the mini-fridge and thrown out the milk container. However, that is really the only issue we had, which is not a big deal to us. The service was excellent. The hotel was just off of the interstate, which allowed us to reach the hospital within 12 minutes and Wal-Mart, etc., in even less time. I have traveled extensively and must say that we received a good deal for the room. I definitely will stay at this hotel again if I am called to that area.

I had a knee opeeration and didn't want to return to my 4 story house right away so stayed here two days. (Hotel is one mile ... from hospital) Excellent room, great price. Had my dog with me and they are very pet friendly. Too far from beach if you are on a vacation but very centrally located if you are here on business. Front desk was very friendly and effecient. Free breakfast is a joke but coffee in rooms and a Denny's only 200 feet away. I was surprised they didn't sell newspapers. For the money, it is better than any of the other hotel/motels around it. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, safe, not too noisy except for street noise.

The staff here was excellent! The room was very large and clean. The housekeeping even accommodated my husband and I while ... showered one afternoon by cleaning the rooms adjacent to ours until we were finished. The free breakfast was better than usual as well, there was cereal, oatmeal, bagels, a waffle iron with batter, apple and orange juice and tea and coffee. The pool was small but clean and usually empty, so no need for a bigger pool. There's an empty field out past the parking lot on the pool side of the hotel that has geese living there. Denny's is withing walking distance and their staff was great too! No complaints.

The Good and the Bad

I worked at another site most of the time during my stay so I only was at the hotel to sleep. I found a couple of really nice ... hotels at about the same price closer to my job and the airport. They were off the 13 and 165 hwy. Up the 64 West about 4 miles. I had worse stays on the road but it could have been better.

I would avoid the Denny's next to the hotel. It was dirty and had a bad smell. It was late, so I endured the place long enough to get a to go order and ate a so called sandwich in my room. The following night I was directed to the Ruby Tuesday's across the street from the hotel. It was excellent. Good service and good food.

If you go to the Virginia Beach "strip" to eat, please be aware of parking challenges. It may be easier to eat at a restaurant near the hotel. However, we wanted seafood, and the closest was in the resort area.
