Room's smelled like a smoke filled bar.

We asked for non smoking rooms. When we arrived we found a maid spraying something into the air. I assume it was to mask the ... cigarette smoke smell. It did not work. The rooms smelled teriable. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told none were available. Being non smokers and having children with asthma, I will never stay at this hotel again.

For nightlife, the Power & Light district is a short 2+ mile ride. It's basically like an outdoor mall complex but instead of stores there are clusters of bars and clubs. Great for crowds of all ages (over 21).

I was there only on business with my husband. It's a perfect get away from the downtown area or any chaos. The staff was ... absolutely friendly and helpful. Only thing the hotel was missing was a pool. They've got free wifi though!! I loved it there, very clean and good continental breafast. : )

Staff was friendly, However the breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. There were twenty people waiting for one waffle ... machine, which completely plugged up the entire area. No bagels, no cream cheese, no milk, no yogurt, no fruit except apples. Had to ask the attendant to replenish the supplies. The over abundance of screaming out of control children was not pleasant. The TV was so out of focus that it couldn't be watched.

I found the hotel easily accessible for going to Barbeque Joints, Power & Light District, Westport, Musuems, and the Zoo. ... It's a must to rent a car, but I would think that's fairly accurate in any part of Kansas City. The room was a good size,and the front desk staff was really helpful in giving us ideas for places to visit. Upon our initial arrival one of the beds was found to be slightly unclean, however the staff immediately rectified the situation. Having the sink in the room was a plus because it saved time for the guys who needed to shave. Overall, similar to most La Quintas I have been to, however service was more hospitable than usual.

High school reunion and visiting with family. A small refrigerator in the room would have been handy, I need to take insulin ... and it needs refrigerated. Also, a computer in your lobby so people could check their e-mails, etc. A time limit might be necessary.

I travel for business often. I was very happy with this hotel because it was a clean, quiet room that was very reasonably ... priced. The hot breakfast was limited, but good. Well worth the money and would stay there again.
