The bad, the ugly and the worst...
Business Trip Nov 16, 2009
The hotel room was very noisy due to the close location to the 405 Freeway, it was too much noise to get any sleep. Also we ... had to ask for extra towels and were told that the hotel did not have enough. Then later that day, we were given towels that smelled like they came out of a cigar closet. Totally disgusting!!! Not a good place for a family to stay.

Great Stay
Nan Nov 15, 2009
When you open your hotel room door you look right out on the freeway and the noise, BUT, when in your room you don't hear it ... at all! We had to bring the dog at the last moment, and this is the most dog friendly place you can imagine. I was told "Sasha", my daughter's puggle was welcome anywhere in the hotel except the breakfast room during breakfast. This made the trip so much easier. Speaking of breakfast, it was the most complete of anyplace I've stayed in this class. Bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, cold cereals, toaster wafflers, muffins, lots of fruit, yogurt, juices, everything for a filling breakfast. This is quite near South Coast Plaza, a great shopping center, and lots of restaurants. The rest of the wedding party stayed at a more expensive hotel, but we saved money and had great location and ammenities at half the price. We'd definitely stay here again! For you people who don't like dogs. Be assured that the dogs won't hamper your trip. There is an area at the back of the hotel to walk the dogs, and they're being allowed won't diminish your stay.

It's too darn close to the 405 freeway, we might have got more sleep if we got a room on the other side away from the 405. ... Although they call themselves La Quinta at the John Wayne airport, they are at least three miles away. It would have been helpful if we knew they had a shuttle service.

Unhappy Customer Jul 27, 2009
I stayed for two nights at La Quinta. All I can say is that staying there alone as a single woman I felt very unsafe. They ... gave me a smoking room (I'm not a smoker) and it was the very farthest from the lobby on the first floor. There was activity all night outside my door which was not only distracting but also concerning considering the door lock wasn't very safe. The hotel didn't provide a shuttle from the airport to the hotel upon my arrival and it took a long time to get someone to check me in. Oh, and there's a H00ters next door. Enough said.

This is a Motel, not a hotel!
GC Jul 16, 2009
The clerk was pleasent enough. However, it should be described as a motel as it was in no measure a hotel and the rate I paid ... through Cheap Tickets was higher than the big banner rate attached to the side of the motel and facing the very noisey freeway. Also, the outside of the motel was very dirty and not well maintained. Don't bother with buying on-line as you could just show up and get a better rate.

Would Not Consider Again
Not worth the money I spent Jul 13, 2009
We arrived at approximately 11 pm the front doors to the lobby were locked because the door was broken. It took me ten ... minutes to get the attention of the desk clerk who wasn't at the desk and no other staff around. The room only had one key and she wasn't sure it was keyed correctly. She went to check and left the door wide open. Come to find out the next morning the key she gave us still didn't work. The morning girl fixed the problem immediately when we told her about it. The night girl told us about the contiental breakfast in the morning but warned us that they were short on food due to the 4th of July rush they had. That was 4 days earlier. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud. I would not stay again due to the lack of concern for the safety of my daughter and I.

The front desk staff was super nice and very helpful. The parking around the hotel was also easy to find. However, the rooms ... we wanted weren't available because they weren't cleaned yet and it was after check-in time. It was in a great location for sightseeing around the southern part of California.

SarahfromSeattle Jul 2, 2009
I stayed at this hotel to view some of the law schools in the area. I was impressed how simple and easy it was to check in ... and out. Breakfast and a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport was provided at no additional cost. When I was leaving, I asked the front desk staff if there was a computer and printer available for guests. I was informed that there wasn't. The front desk staff asked me if I planned to print out my boarding pass. I informed her yse, and she used her computer to check me in and print my boarding pass. I will definitely stay here when I return to the area in a few weeks.

There was an outdoor mall w/ a movie theater, shopping and restuarants down the street. The shopping center was very nice and very close to the hotel. I don't recall the name, but it was a half mile South of the hotel on South Coast Drive.
