Good stay for cheap
Recently engaged and happy Oct 26, 2009
The woman at the hotel greeted me and my fiance right away and got us set for our room. She even told us where to park and ... where it was located. The room was clean. The door was a little complicated to figure out how to get open, but nothing we couldn't handle. The tub could've used a cleaning...it wasn't in the greatest shape. The beds were comfy and the sheets were spotless. The tv was in decent shape. Overall, the stay was very nice.

no place like home Sep 16, 2009
We ask for a non-smoking but the room smell like someone has been smoking in it. As it made all my clothes smell like I need ... smoking in a small space. I had to wash all my clothes and what was worst I could smell it in my hair and on my skin. The bathroom was dirty, the tub needs extra cleaning to a point i didn't want to shower in there. You get what you paid for we picked this location because it was close to the off ramp and easy access to the freeway. We really just need a place to rest.

Recommended with Conditions :) Aug 19, 2009
Staff was friendly and--for the most part--helpful. The continental breakfast, while far from being tasty, was definitely ... adequate. The pool was nice. I didn't use it, but it looked nice. Centrally located, the airport is about 5 miles away; outlet mall about 7 miles away; Folly Beach about 20 miles, downtown historic Charleston about 20 miles away. The only definite gripe that I had about this room that it had a distinctive odor, like it had once been a smoking room, and that it seemed to be very damp. All in all, it wasn't that bad of a stay.

Hotel was full on 2nd night of our stay. Alot if noise from pool area late at night. Brightside breakfast good, but Sunday ... morning very crowded, not enough tables and chairs to accomodate guests. Also, ran out of many food items and was not replenished. Free internet was unavailable most of the time.

Bad La Quinta
Recent traveler Jun 28, 2009
Had a great trip to Charleston, except for the hotel. We reserved a non smoking, king bed for two nights. When we got there, ... the staff gave us our room key...only that room had been rented by someone else, imagine our surprise when we opened the door. Got another room, but it had two double beds. Got yet another room, but the only king bed they had was in a smoking room. The staff wasn't rude, but very abrupt and seemed to have more important things to do than help us out. Will stay at another hotel if given the choice.

mixed experiences
Marianne Dec 27, 2008
The LaQuinta lies directly at an interstate - a lot of noise. We could see light and hear a lot of noise through the closed ... room door. The internet connection didn't work the first day. The main desk told me the connection is down, the second day it worked partly, only one bar next to the window - no connection inside the room. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variation and a nice place to sit. So we had mixed experiences.

comfort!!!
Marcie Oct 20, 2008
Our stay at the LaQuinta Inn was for the most part enjoyable. The desk clerk at check in, a very nice girl was very helpful ... friendly, and an all around great representative of the hotel. She was a real nice sight for tired eyes. We were however not real impressed with the maid service, the room was clean however, there was trash left from previous guests and the towels were not changed on a daily basis nor was the trash taken out. But all in all we did enjoy the comfort of the beds and the sweet person at the hotles front desk. We would stay there again if given the oprotunity.
