I booked this hotel simply because it was the cheapest hotel in the Fiumicino district of Rome and I was only staying for one ... night, during my 16 hr layover. Overall, I was very pleased. The desk clerks were very pleasant and helpful in booking a return transfer to the airport. I expected a twin bed and found a king size bed,a kitchen and a very nice bathroom. Only complaint is that the TV did not work, but for one night I couldn't be bothered to ask the front desk about it. I would not, however, stay at this hotel if you are looking to go to Rome for tourism. It is convenient to the airport and that's about it. The rest of the city is about a 20 minute drive away.

It is what it is. This is a very convenient hotel for travelers who have early morning flights out of Fiumicino airport and ... don't want to risk being late due to Rome's horrible traffic. The staff is very helpful and the shuttle service in the morning to the airport was efficient, took us about 15 minutes to get to the terminal. On the down side, the rooms are spacious but very plain, and there is not much of interest located nearby, so just plan to sleep there. Our worst experience was arranging the transportation to the motel from Termini in Rome. The first taxicab driver quoted us a price of 150 euros, claiming that the motel was many miles from the airport (a lie). Several other taxi drivers offered to drive us for 80-120 euros, which we turned down and finally one driver offered us a rate of 50 euros which we took. A note to the wise: always ask the driver how much the ride will cost before getting in the taxi.

Convenient to Rome airport (FCO)

This was very close to the airport - so there was some air traffic noise - but not too bad with the windows closed. The room ... was spotless and spacious and perfect for an overnight prior to flying. There was no printer attached to the internet station in the lobby. The staff suggested we email our boarding passes to the hotel and they would print them out, but we weren't tech-savvy enough to do it successfully. They allowed us to use a parking space across from the hotel, which was a life saver considering the narrow streets. The very helpful desk clerk directed us to a nearby restaurant that had great calamaretti. We would stay again.

This is a great value...close to the airport...VERY helpful and friendly daytime staff (night staff left a bit to be ... desired). Would DEFINITELY stay here again especially if you are flying out early the next morning (airport is just a short taxi away).

We came in from a fifteen day cruse, awaiting our flight out of Rome. It was a very quite remote area and we were able to ... take the bus to the beach city area. There were two places to eat within walking distance and they were both very good. Not any shopping but the place was just what we need to relax and rest from our cruse.

After trying for almost an hour (from the airport) my taxi driver could not find the place so I spent a small fortune on a ... taxi to and from nowhere then had to spend five times what this hotel would have cost to stay at the airport hotel. I chose this for proximity to FCO for an early mornig flight - big and costly mistake.

Hard to find because it was a "secret"

We booked this hotel at a great price, but it was listed as a "secret hotel", so we figured they'd give us the name once it ... was booked, but they just gave us the address & that address happened to be up a hill & off of the street that the address was listed as, so as we didn't speak Italian it took us about 2 hours to find once we got off of the public transit bus with all of our luggage. It's far from central Rome if you are traveling without a vehicle.

Perfect Da Vinci Airport Hotel

We chose this hotel based on other online comments and were not disappointed. It was VERY close to the airport. The rooms ... were large (studio apartment with full kitchen) and clean.The staff was extremely helpful and the local restaurants were in walking distance and very good. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, so when the neighbors came home from work, it was a bit noisy, but after the sun went down, all was quiet. There is a shuttle van that takes you to the airport (6 Euro/person) & this was the only downer, since the van was full (one seat left) when it stopped for us and one of us had to cram into the back with some fellow travelers who were not amused.

First of all, I booked over the phone w/Orbitz to ask questions. I was told there would be 2 bedrooms...NOT. It was also very ... hard to find. I had not printed a map prior to travel, but found a very helpful fellow in a 'ristorante' who got out his laptop and then decided that was too complicated, so he got in his car a had us follow him to the La Maison Jolie. The place was clean and had ample towels & space (if not seperate rooms!) a nice free breakfast and accomodating staff. It was only 1 night prior to leaving Rome so... what the heck! We booked a private car to take us into Rome and pick us up at a designated time & place, so were able to visit before our return to the USA

The only difficulty was, to find the exact location of the hotel, since not indicated on the Orbitz confirmation page. The ... hotel was brand new, the rooms were large and comfortable, the staff was very friendly, the rate was less than expect. This is an ideal choice when leaving from the Rome' Airport early in the morning.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport - we needed to make a morning departure. The rooms are very large, ... spotless, and modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. While you wouldn't pick this neighborhood for tourism, it had what we needed: recent restaurants within walking distance. Nicest (most variety) breakfast of anywhere we stayed in Italy. It should be a 10 euro cab ride (10 min) to the airport, but I think the cabbies hate this short distance and they will find a way to up the fare. A metered cab is the best way not to get ripped off, although the driver may add a 'baggage charge'. Overall highly recommended and a very good value.

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay close to the airport for an early flight out of Rome. La Masion Jolie was perfect ... and had shuttle service for a small fee every hour from the hotel to the airport. We also had a fantastic meal at a restaurant/wine bar just down the street.

Restorante La Campagnola is just around the corner from the piazza a short walk from the hotel. The food is great, the prices reasonable and the staff very friendly and fun. The menus are only in Italian and the staff speaks little English, but if you are willing to apply basic Italian and a little patience, they are great hosts and will introduce you to the local foods.
