booked a handicap 'suite' and was shown to a five foot by twelve foot hole with a bed in it. furniture was missing handles, ... stains in carpet sheets and bedcovers. bathroom so small the door cannot be opened if a person is in the bathroom. definitely not a handicapped suite. was moved to another room on the 21st floor, and had a similar experience, except it was larger (not by much). fridge did not work, air conditioning on full blast from the moment we got in to the moment we left, and room never got below 88 degrees. very used furniture and bedding, stained towels and hairs in bathroom. Charges $30 per night for valet where there is only 1 employee, and it takes about an hour and a half to have your car brought up. Definitely opt for the self parking ( though even this is $24 per night). garden is beautiful, but almost always booked for a 'private party' so don't expect to actually walk around in it. overall? total waste of money. have had better service and rooms at the motel 6.

Summer Sauce Jun 28, 2009
This was a fabulous hotel, especially considering the rate we got. The rooms were spotless and very elegantly furnished and ... decorated. The beds were the best part - feather beds, down comforter, and down pillows - the perfect end after a night on the town! I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Excellent accomodation
Dinamite Bla Jun 11, 2009
This was my second experience in Kyoto Grand and nothing in the overall accomodation disappointed me: room was confortable, ... 3rd floor restaurants are fantastic, the rooftop garden relaxing. Overall, for the price requested, I think Kyoto Grand was a perfect deal. The flaw this year was Internet Connection: I brought with me 9 collegues in a business trip and working from the rooms was simply impossible. And this for 10 $ a day per computer (for 10 people for 8 days it's a lot of money, wasted because of the poor wireless connection). Kyoto Grand should really address this issue, because even if I really like the hotel, its restaurants and its position in L.A., next year I'm going to move to another accomodation because of the poor bandwith experienced last week. We were there to work, we simply couldn't.

Rooms were clean, hotel was nice. We didnt check out all the restaurants or garden or anything. We just partied after new ... years and went back to sleep. The staff was friendly during check in and check out and were helpful. Parking was $25 for overnight, pretty expensive. There is an outdoor lot across the street for $10 over night, but there is no security, so park at your own risk. Clean hotel, but kinda pricey. One annoying though was the japanese drums that i heard in the morning around 10-11 AM. I was still sleeping and I could hear it from my room, so it was sorta annoying. Otherwise, great hotel.

The Kyoto hotel was very classy and professionally staffed. Requests were responded to promptly. The rooms were clean and ... have great views. Mine did. Restaurant dining was great. Fitness area good. The price was reasonable and I can't wait to return. I highly recommend this hotel. It is also centrally located with easy access to buses, train lines etc. Do not miss the beautiful gardens at this hotel.

Located in Little Tokyo with easy access to restaurants, shops and the Japanese American National Museum. Close to Olvera ... Street and Chinatown. Close to Disney Concert Hall, attended a Count Basie Orchestra concert. Close to Downtown LA and the Staples Center. Our son and daughter attended a Lakers game. Easy access to freeway entrances. Short trip to and from LAX. Beautiful Japanese garden on the mezzanine level. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.

Nice Hotel
Ming Dec 1, 2008
This is a nice hotel. It is very clean. I was impressed by the garden on the third floor. It is good to walk around. The home ... has pretty much every thing that is needed. Want to use the Internet for a short time, you may want to use the computer in the business center, which is free for 5 minutes usage. It is good if you just want to do a simple google map. The breakfast in the restaurant is quite expensive. A cup of tea would cause more than 3 dollars. Other than that, the hotel is quite nice and comfortable.

Location is great because we wanted to be near or in Little Tokyo. The area seemed very safe and secure even at night to ... walk around. It was also convenient to get on the highways. Room was comfortable and kept clean during the stay. But I was surprised that hotel does not provide 1) real glass instead of flimsy plastic cups and 2) yukata or bath robe, particular for a hotel who caters to Japanese guests a lot.

This hotel was very nice. Check in was quick. The Hotel has a asian theme. Dont miss the Gardens on the Third Floor. ... Beautiful. Had dinner in one of several they have on the premises. Good Dinner and Service. Located very close the Disney Concert Hall. City Hall is just around the corner. You will be have to pay for parking either 24.00 for self-park or 30.00 for valet. Seems kinda high, but it is Downtown LA.

The Kyoto Hotel & Gardens was quite a pleasant experience. The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful with directions and ... recommendations on restaurants and places to go like The Getty museum and other places (LACMA. It was a five minute walk to the metro. Our room was comfortable, always clean, and had a great view. We would recommend this hotel and will stay here in again this spring when we return to LA.

Looks Better On The Website
Deanna Oct 12, 2008
Once we got into our room, the AC was off, it was extremely hot. When they would change the linens, they would cut off the ... AC! The ice machine was broken on one floor. The pillows were 12x12 and very uncomfortable. The ironing board/iron was extremely difficult to work with...the breakfast buffet was 19.99 PER PERSON! The location was accessible to the DASH or the bus line, taxi's were available. My suggestion: bring some oatmeal to make in your room using the coffee pot for hot water and bring some fresh fruit and yogurt for the mini fridge. The music that was played in the lobby was obnoxious...remember I was in the lobby for sometime before I got my room key.

The hotel employees were very nice and friendly. The room service for the breakfast was bit expensive, for typical ... breakfast. We had a smoker's room. Whem opened the window, but found there was no screen to protect bugs from coming into the room. I got bitten and had to close the window. But when windows were closed, ventilation was so poor I asked my husband to smoke in the bathroom. I think it could impove it's ventilation. But overall we had a pleasant time at the hotel.

Finding a decent hotel at a reasonable price in a major city is always a challenge. Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens is good ... value for money. We had a 16' truck with equipment that we had no place to park. The surrounding lots would not accomodate us overnight. The ... manager was very helpful in solving the problem. My only complaints would be that the bed wasn't very comfortable and we couldn't find a late night snack when we returned to the hotel. No pool but the jazz in the beer garden was great!
