A taste of England in just one night!
Joelle World Traveler Aug 24, 2009
I chose Kings Paget because my brother and I had only one overnight at the end of a transatlantic cruise and I wanted to ... experience the feeling of a stay in England. It is only about 25 minutes by bus and much quicker by taxi. We checked in most of our luggage at Heathrow beforehand. The inn is in a quiet location in a small town and we arrived on a holliday. Our knock on the door was answerd by a helper ,who called the owner for instructions. He escorted us to our room with private bath and a tv at the back wing overlooking a garden, The room was clean and the furnishing were adequate and comfortable. We had a skylight, as well as a large window. The only sound we heard was a few birds singing. When I inquired about a place we could go to buy a drink, the hotel aassistant surprised us with. a pitcher of cold orange juice The inn has a pleasant courtyard and provides a full English breakfast. It is situated close to a pub which seved a delicious, but inexpensive, buffet It was pleasant walking around the town The price of our stay was .very reasonable and the experience was wonderful and restful

Leave luggage at airport and taking taxi is more convenient, as the trip by bus requires a long walk.

Taxi £20 depite only a couple of miles. Train to Paddington cheaper and almost as fast. This "hotel" is a wannabe B&B and ... cost me £77 pn. Room was in "extension" out the back. Room was however big and clean. Hallway had waterstained tiles as celing. All staff were OK. West Drayton is not a place to visit twice!

good place to stay near Heathrow
James Dec 4, 2008
If you are looking to spend the night near Heathrow and prefer a bed and breakfast type place rather than a big hotel, this ... is a good option. It takes about 15 mins. by bus to get to from the airport, it is near a nice small downtown area with some nearby pubs and restaurants, and the hotel itself is a good value and comfortable. The full English breakfast is good too. I was somewhat worried about figuring out when to get off the bus, but this turned out to be easy. The bus you take actually announces the stops before they happen, and once you hear the right one, just ding the bell. It's pretty easy and there is a bus (if I remember correctly) every 12 minutes or so. BTW, the bus costs 2 pounds each way.
