Good location, but not posh
Solo traveler Nov 23, 2009
This was my first trip to Kauai so I wanted a central location and the hotel fit the bill. Kapaa is a good town to stay in ... for families too, since there are two large food markets and a Longs Drugs for supplies. There's barely a beach, but the grass landscaping along the beach edge is nice for sitting. My room was adequate and clean enough (no bugs, clean linens) but worn down and there was a coffee stain on my curtains that bothered me. My room had a mini-fridge and a safe for my passport and extra cash which was a nice feature. The restaurant is wildly over-priced. I liked the Coconut Marketplace for quick take-out food.

Coco's Caffee is fantastic for dinner, especially if you like fresh, organic food. They allow you to bring in wine, but don't serve alcohol.

Peaceful, R&R, in Beautiful Kauai !!
Pinky and Mark Oct 10, 2009
We had a very relaxing and wonderful stay in Kauai. The resort is in a good location (east side), 10 mins from ... Airport(Lihue),30 miles from Princeville - 30/40 miles from Waimea Canyon. Easy access to any point. Rooms are clean, very comfortable. Kitchen was fully appointed. FULL-size fridge, oven/stove, micro, D/W, all utensils/cookware...Perfect. We had a 1Br Gardenview on 2nd fl, (they moved us up from 1st - our request) and you could see the ocean from balcony just fine. The beachfront was only about 50 yards away, nice for Sunrise coffee and Sunset drink(s)! There's no elevator, but it isn't missed. Only 3 floors. We weren't harassed to buy timeshare. They called us only twice. Just didn't pick. Easy. Front desk, very friendly, helpful, and accomadating. Overall, no complaints, this is a great place to stay in Kauai!!

Do your grocery shopping at Big Save - not Safeway or Foodland - and you'll see much better prices.

"Fantastic Honeymoon Stay"
Shay's place Sep 21, 2009
I would have to say that this was very enjoyable and neet and clean. The staff was very friendly and the house keeping was ... fantastic. The view was breath taking. My soulmate and I were married on Kauai and honeymooned here as well. We we're very happy to be here. The only thing we would have to frown on is that our people that were above us were not respectful of us. What I mean is you could hear them stomping as if they were running laps up above us. Other than that it was awsome.

Great spot to stay
honeymooners Aug 31, 2009
This resort was exactly what we hoped for. We wanted a kitchen so we could cook some meals at home but also the services of ... a hotel. We got all of that and more. The pool bar made the best mai tai of any we tasted on the island. The staff was very friendly but didn't bother us either. The location was great. We were able to see the sun rise over the beach and could easily drive to the west, south and north sides of the island "quickly" (taking into account the slow two lane road). The option to have air conditioning was very nice - especially because those crazy roosters crow at the strangest times everywhere on the island!

Everything and more!

There is not one bad thing to say about the Kauai Coast Resort. It was clean, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our ... suite had a large kitchen and a washer/dryer in the bathroom. The patio had a table and two chairs and was the perfect place to enjoy a meal or just relax. It is in a great area, the beach is in walking distance, the pool was nice and never overcrowded. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it was the perfect way to spend our honeymoon!

The Coconut Marketplace is just across the street. It has many stores to get gifts for family and friends. The Hula Girl also has amazing food that is not to be missed!
