DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
Jon Mar 28, 2009
The Jerusalem Gate Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in more than 30 years of traveling. The room was ... small and shabby. Every 8-9 hours the ceiling would mysteriously start to leak. (Thank goodness the leak was not over the bed.) The quality of the breakfast food was poor. The hotel staff was not friendly and very unhelpful. For example, I asked them to provide me with the local phone number of an airline office. They told me to call information from a pay phone on the street. I asked that they confirm my taxi pickup for my return to the airport. (They arranged for the taxi the day before.) The desk person refused to call and confirm the taxi. (And of course, the taxi had the wrong time and was late.) Upon check out, I asked for a receipt indicating that my bill had been properly settled. They refused to give me a receipt. But worst of all, the hotel caters to bus loads of young teenage travelers. For 4-5 hours each night, dozens of young teenagers ran wild through the hallways screaming and carrying on. BE WARNED. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

The free breakfasts were ...

The free breakfasts were OK, but had the same food day in and day out. The beds were very uncomfortable, there were no ... dressers for your clothes and I had a watch stolen from my suitecase. There is a sign at the front desk saying that the hotel is not responsible for your valuables left in your room.
Traveler type: Single
The bus station is a block away which was very convenient.
