Great hotel
LI Traveller Nov 1, 2009
Great hotel, friendly staff, great location but room too warm with window closed and too noisy when open. No ventilation ... since too late for a/c and too early for heat. Very good location, close to all major sights and subway. Would stay here again but would request room off street.

Rome Honeymoon trip

It was great the staff was very helpful. The first room wasn't too big, nor the bathtub, but once we chaged into the suite ... then it was great. The view was totally outstanding.

the hotel resturant and room service taste great. We ate from breakfast to room service in the am. The club sandwich we had 3 times.

Intercontinental De La Ville ROMA Fantas
Antonio May 13, 2009
Excellent location. Check-in and check-out went without a hitch. Concierge service was fantastico. Our rooms had a small ... balcony, with floor-length windows that opened. Location was exceptional, although if you cannot climb a lot of steps, the location at the top of the Spanish Steps might be a problem. However, that was offset by the proximity to several great restaurants and great shopping. We were able to walk just about everywhere within the historic district comfortably. The hotel, the vacation, and the outstanding Orbitz service were everything we expected.

Don't be afraid of the language barrier just about anywhere within the historic district of Rome. We had no problem reading menus or signs, and almost all of the locals we interacted with knew at least some English, and were very friendly and helpful.

At most restaurants, order the Roman Artichoke. It is Rome's specialty.

Amazing Location & Views of Rome
rome traveler Apr 23, 2009
Staying at this hotel during our Roman Holiday made our trip extra special. The staff arranged all our tours and gave great ... inside tips for where to eat and explore. The food was delicious. The location could not get any better, right at the top of the Spanish Steps in the center of the city of Rome. We can't wait to return.

Got food poisoning from local bar and ended up in hospital. During ER visit someone stayed with us to help with the language ... barrier. Manager [...] visited us everyday and helped with arrangements for extra few days stay. Everyone in the hotel were extremely helpful and professional. Unsurpassed service i have ever experienced. Excellent location as well right at the top of the Spanish Steps. Dont bother going to another hotel. This is the place to be in Rome...Thanks again to [...] and the staff of the De La Ville.

A Professional and Friendly Staff
Jill Jun 12, 2008
The InterContinental De L Ville Roma made my first time experience in Rome a very memorable one. The hotel is conveniently ... located next to the Spanish Steps, which is located in the center of downtown Rome. This provided great access to restaurants, shopping areas and the metro station. All of Rome?s attractions are with in walking distance from the hotel. As for being a solo travel, I can say that I was made to feel very comfortable and safe at the InterContinental. The concierges? expertise helped with my transfers from Rome to Naples and back, providing a no hassle and safe travel experience for me. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler.

Great Location
Anna Jul 27, 2007
The InterContinental Rome was a very nice hotel. The room was comfortable and clean and we especially liked the bathroom and ... the balcony. The location of the hotel was perfect it was within walking distance of every major attraction (Although you do have to climb the Spanish Steps a lot-- which could be a problem for some travelers). The only drawback of the hotel was that the food they served was not worth the price. Also the choices for food/bars right around the hotel were limited.
Traveler type: Business
To see the true character of Rome visit the Trastevere on the west bank. It is not really that far and it has the best night life and food. It is also resonably priced and items like water and soda are about half the price of what they are near the hotel.

Perfect location to explore Rome
Deborah May 3, 2007
The location at the top of the Spanish Steps is a great place to begin exploring in any direction. The street that it is ... located on Via Sistani is a great boutique area with a nice cappichino bar steps away. The best shopping street is a block away and the walk to Ancient Rome is a pleasant stroll seven blocks away. The conceierge staff was particularly helpful with dining reservations and touring suggestions. Our room overlooked a beautiful courtyard with fountains and the rooftop bar had a jaw-dropping view of Rome.
