Location was excellent. Went to Busch Stadium for a Cardinal's game, Gateway Arch, LaClede's Landing. All within walking ... distance. Room was nice, but not much help from staff on a couple of questions we had and hallway noise was bad! Elevators were very slow, we ended up taking stairs quite a bit, but they were dark and dingy.

Busy weekend they couldn't handle
Disappointed Sep 10, 2009
AC quit at 2:00 a.m. and we had to wait 45 min. for someone to get to the floor to fix it. We had our room downgraded. The ... parking garage was full and signs were not displayed so we had to drive around St. Louis in a circle to get back to the hotel to valet. Worst of all we had to wait one hour for the valet to bring us our car after check out and the staff was rude when I ask where my car was after waiting 45 minutes.

The Family Traveler Aug 24, 2009
We had a great stay overall. This property was recently renovated and the rooms and lobby were very nice. The front desk ... staff did not have a clue how to efficiently check someone in. Every time I went to the front desk it was painful. Parking is a bit limited but overall ok. I would stay there again, the location is awesome and I like the on site Starbucks. They could use a family frendly restaurant because everyone goes across the street to Max and Ermas. The property is very nice and they have made an effort to get rid of the Adams Mark features which is good.

The great location makes it an easy walk to the Arch and the Riverfront. The Arch and the related museum are much nicer than expected.

Visited the gateway arch which was few steps away. We visited Busch stadium. The Hotel was very Convinient for the places you ... want to visit. The only problem was you can't park your car in there parking lot. You have to use the valet and pay $25 a day. We ended up parking 3 blocks way from the hotel which only cost us only $3. It worked out well. Overall the place was a perfect spot to be near the arch.

Wonderful view - upgrade great value!
Betsy Aug 11, 2009
Over all it was a very enjoyable experience. We stayed at this hotel before it was a Hyatt Regency and really like the ... location near the arch. Every staff member we met was just wonderful... smiling and going out of their way to please us... front desk, Regency Club, bartenders, bellmen... EVERYONE!! We felt like we were at a Ritz Carlton! We upgraded to the Regency Club with breakfast and evening appetizers. It was a great deal with free beverages throughout the day as well! We were in St Louis for a convention. The deal we got through Orbitz was better than what we could have gotten at the host hotels. They've been doing a lot of renovating. The rooms now have what we were told is "European decor." Whatever you call it... the new furniture has NO drawers. There are NO drawers in the desk, bathroom, bedside table or TV cabinet. I suppose they didn't like guests leaving items behind. (There are three shelves in the TV cabinet.) Probably ok for a business person but a bit challenging if you're staying for a week. We were a bit disappointed that there was no refrigerator in the room. I overheard a front desk associate telling someone that was because the company was choosing to be "greener" and reducing their carbon footprint. That's important to us so we were content getting ice. The only other negative thing I'd share is an odd smell in the side lobby near the elevators. They were doing renovations there when we arrived. I'm certain the smell was mold and not drywall or hops from the brew pub... but I think the bell staff have been trained to say differently. All in all... we would highly reccommend this hotel to folks in the future.

T.T. Aug 9, 2009
The service from the front desk was outstanding, [...] provided wonderful service and answered my questions & printed out ... maps as I attempted to navigate the city. Additionally, received an upgraded larger room with direct view of Arch. I would definitely return to this hotel. However, didn't care for Ruth Chris restaurants' service/food in the hotel. No reflection on the Hyatt though just an FYI!

About the Regency
brad Aug 5, 2009
The hotel is nice. Great location if you plan to stay in downtown area. Close to ballpark, about 2-3 blocks away, arch is ... right down the street. Zoo and Science Center are only a few miles down the road, same with Union Station. What I didn't like is, it is $25 per day for valet parking, convenient, but overpriced. The breakfast is WAY overpriced, especially if you order off the menu. For example, eggs benedict is $13, add another $3.50 for juice or coffee. For four of us for the breakfast buffett, with juice and coffee was $65. It was nice with omelts, etc. but overpriced for me. The rooms are fairly small for the price. Bed is very comfortable and bathroom is nice. TV is nice and big. Overall, for over $500, not a very good value. However, location is a huge plus if you are going to a ballgame or spending time near the arch and downtown!
