Dangerous horrible hotel!!!
angry Aug 25, 2009
our room had wet carpet,(it had been cleaned earlier in the day) My husband who just recooperated from 2 broken knees ... slipped. He caught himself on the door handle so he didn't fall but jarred his knees into pain. I complained at the desk and our room was changed but no concern was issued about his condition. It was a inconvenience that we needed to change. No appology or care was relayed. The entire hotel smelled vile with very strong chemical odors. We would have gone to a different hotel but we were tired, he was in pain and we thought we could endure. By morning we both could hardly breathe from the strong chemicals. Our new room had dirty slept in sheets, the bedside lamp didn't work and the ice machine was broken. We contracted for a nice room and we received a dangerous one. I talked to the manager in the morning and he passed the buck. He said he could not refund us our money because we used Orbitz. I argued that the Hyatt and it's dangerous conditions were his responsibility not yours. His arrogance was overflowing and we left.

Good location with easy access to I25. The breakfast had choices of yogurt, fresh fruit, various cereals, and breads. The ... room was large and had a mini-fridge. The only complaint was that the room didn't have the usual notebook with info about the hotel and surrounding area.

Some concerns
Arlene Aug 14, 2009
I liked the room we were in. It was clean and spacious. However, a first impression is lasting. When we entered the hotel ... we were directed to check in on our own. A hotel should be like entering someone's home. You don't expect to come in and have some tell you to help yourself. You depend on a friendly face to welcome you and ask what you need. Yikes! [...] was someone who helped us later and she was awesome. However, you have her doing ten different things. Also, there was no reference in the room to places to eat, to see, etc. and no telephone book. Sigh!

Average Hotel Price with High End Feel
jangoman Jul 19, 2009
Pulling up to the hotel I thought we were in for a typical "Days Inn" experience, but the decor was actually modern and felt ... high end. This was a vacation with my wife, but I'll definitely use Hyatt Place in the future for biz travel. Big room and huge flat screen TV were nice.

Try the cog railway up to the top of Pikes Peak. Very friendly! It's better to pony up and pay the extra $20 for a Gray Lines tour, though...parking at the train station is terrible.

Nice Stay
Alan Jun 15, 2008
This was my first time at this hotel and for the most part it was a very pleasant stay. The only real complaint is that there ... are no microwaves in the hotel even in the galley. I feel since most hotels have microwaves a hotel of this quality is missing out on a very nice option. The room was very nice especially the 42 Plasma HD TV was really enjoyable. I would recommend it to my friends but I would warn them about the microwave oven issue.
