Horrible
I had some property stolen from my room while I was away from the hotel all day. I reported the problem to the manager on ... duty who told me that he would look into it. The next day he reported that the housekeeper said that she didn't take anything so he decided to look in the lost and found, amazingly my property was in the lost in found after the manager spoke to the housekeeper. Completely unacceptable.

Anniversary Weekend
The hotel was located adjacent to the Tampa Bay Center for Performing Arts, which was where we were to see a musical, so the ... location was very convenient for us. The staff was very helpful. I suppose the room was clean enough, but I couldn't help but notice a funny smell. I would say overall it was average. It was not an immaculate WOW, but there was nothing there that would keep me from returning.

Not impressed
After our first day they took our old towels but didn't replace them. I called the front desk and they made us go down 12 ... floors to get them instead of bringing them to us. One of the elevators broke on the second day. Fitness center was awful: no water, no mats, and no handweights. All they had was a bike, an elliptical and a messed-up bowflex. If you manage to follow the poor signage, you then have to walk down a flight of narrow, dark, and dirty stairs to get to the pool. The restaurant had no quick snack options. Rooms are no better than the quality you would see at a Red Roof or Super 8. On the plus side it was very close to downtown and public transportation.

Two great breakfast spots: First Watch and Moxies are about a 1/2 mile southeast of the hotel.

A nice hotel
The hotel was nice, the bed comfy, and a great view. However, it would have been nice when we checked in that we were told ... there was an $8/day fee to park. We would have paid it anyway but it would have been nice to have been told. Instead the clerk at checkout just said we have a sign which is on the counter and could not be seen when you had over 10 peopel checking in at the same time - it was New Year's Eve and they were busy. Also, when we got back to the room we had to go back down to the lobby because the keys did not work and needed to be reset.

Fair to good...
Decent room; nice bar and restaurant; Local-area shuttle was excellent unexpected bonus; housekeeping was generally mediocre ... with too few towels one day and never left coffee for in-room use...Location was what was wanted, price was reasonable -- $8 per night to park was unexpected and unwelcome surprise...but shuttle somewhat offset that news.

Nice for the price & location
Reason for hotel stay: Our child was participating in a sports competition at the Bob Martinez Center. We noticed that the ... toilet flushed VERY slow when we first checked in, but thought nothing of it until it was totally backed up at 1:00am when we were going to bed. Front desk person offered to send us a plunger (but not to plunge it for us) but we declined. I was NOT going to plunge a nasty, stinking toilet at that hour when I was ready to climb into bed. When we asked for a room key to a nearby available room to use THAT toilet instead, there was none available. Finally, they sent us a room key for a room 2 doors down, but not until we woke up the NEXT morning. Front desk person said she was by herself & couldn't leave the desk at night. I suspect that room was indeed available the previous night, but they didn't want to offer us the key at that time because she couldn't leave the front desk. Also, the hotel seemed to be filled with nothing but college-aged kids/young adults & NO families or people with kids. However, it didn't seem too noisy that weekend. They seemed to only have ONE rolling luggage carrier which was always unavailable, so we had to make multiple trips to the car from the 10th floor.

Relaxing Relief
I thought there was room service, but they did not offer that. Also, they should state that a few of there floors will be ... taken by new U.Tampa students. I like my own children, but when I want to get some peace and quiet I would rather not hear a lot of other teenagers in all areas of the hotel!

great deal for the price
This hotel is in a great location being downtown Tampa. Although it is a bit of a walk to some areas of downtown, they ... offered a shuttle service to the convention center which was very convenient. Although, not as upscale as some of the other hotels downtown, this is a great spot if you are looking to save on the rate. Was a great bargain. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff very helpful.

ok but clear signs of getting better
we stayed here to go to a concert. The lobby of the hotel is lovley with nice computers for public use and nice modern ... artwork on the wall. The bar area and restaurant have clearly gone under recient renovation. The improvements seem to have stopped there. The Rooms still have a feel of a 2 star hotel. I get the vide that the hotel was under a major renovation before the economy tanked. hopefully they will start up again in the near future. This place is just a few minor upgrades from being a really nice place to stay.

not the worst hotel...
The location was perfect for my needs. However, the room was small and crowded. The most disappointing was being notified of ... the $8 per night parking fee which was not on Orbitz web site and not on the hotel's website. There are no other parking options in the vicinity, and it was an unguarded, unsecure lot.

Falling Apart
The local area is fair at best with minimal parking lot lighting. The lobby looks great, but the rooms and hallways are that ... of a very unkept property. The room had iron burns in the dirty and old carpet, the bathroom door was actually falling off the hinges, the top three screws were missing, and it smells very bad. The vending area had broken glass as somebody in the past had smashed their way thur and it now the empty machine just sits there. The walls are paper thin you can hear the next room clear as day, and don't ask for a wakeup call, you won't get it.I would stay away from this hotel at all costs, pay a few bucks more you will be glad you did.
