The room was clean, but we were on the side of the freeway, which was noisy. The price of the room was very reasonable. ... When we vacation we do not spend time in the room, so for the purpose of just sleeping it was fine. We didn't plan on buying the room, we just was going to sleep in the room for a couple of nights. The cafe in the Howard Johnson was reasonable priced and good food.

Convenient, clean & cheap!
Packer Fans Sep 23, 2009
We were a little leery because of the price, but this was one of the nicest HoJos we've stayed in. We were traveling to ... Green Bay from Burlington, VT and only needed the room for one night. The location was great, very convenient to all major highways and the airport. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. No fancy amenities, but we weren't looking for any. Tolerable highway noise, even for country mice:) Very quiet inside the hotel. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Best surprise was the very nice restaurant attached. We came in late, but took advantage of the breakfast specials. Good food, nice atmosphere and unbelievable prices. We had eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, toast and unlimited coffee for less than we would have paid at a fast food chain for a value meal breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner and have a full service bar. We make this trip yearly and will definitely stay here again!

The staff was very helpful We needed to be at the airport very early and they worked it out. They did say that the shuttle ... usually only leaves on the hour - we left a bit earlier than that as we were the only passengers. The continental breakfast was put out at 4am - good for early departures.

Winding down a business trip camped out at Airventure left me with lots of laundry. Good machines, friendly accommodating ... staff, older buildings, yet clean and quiet, close to MKE with shuttle service. Restaurant with good homemade food for reasonable prices and personable staff. Pool was well maintained. Saw the fitness center which was not too crowded with equipment, just right.

Ok, keep in mind that I was traveling with 4 other buddies, no wives or kids. I would probably not have cared for this place ... if with kids or wife. The rooms weren't real clean. Had stains on carpet. Could hear people all night coming and going. But, for the price, it was worth it. We were looking for cheap, not awesome and we got what we paid for. Worth the money to stay a night or two.

Traumatizing Experience
Traveling Couple Jul 22, 2009
Once we pulled in we wanted to leave, the outside appearance is horrific. They need serious updates! We thought we had booked ... a refrigerator room but they only have a certain amount and by request only. Once in the room there was a pair of dirty socks. GROSS! The advertise for continental breakfast- its more like old coffee, tang and stale donuts. If you got up after 7 there was nothing left anyway, they do not restock. We had to go get breakfast every morning. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Howard Johnson's inconsideration
Carol, retiree Jul 14, 2009
We called directly to the hotel to make sure we could get a smoke free room. When we got there they said none were ... available. Of course we had already paid for the room so had no choice but to stay. I was told if we didn't book directly through them our requests were not considered. My husband is on a breathing machine and I am allergic to cigarette smoke odor. It wasn't just a simple request. Since Howard Johnson's has no consideration for their quests welfare, I'm sure we will consider all other alternatives before staying st a Howard Johnson's again. The bright side was they had one of the best retaurants I"ve ever ate at. They try to satisfy every palette and do it very tastefully.

Worst hotel experience ever. We asked for two rooms with two beds, got one bed. We asked for non-smoking, and got smoking. ... We asked for adjacent rooms and were told they didn't have them, but when we had to switch rooms because the air didn't work, we were moved to an adjacent room. Our other party was moved to a completely different building. The worst part was the staff-RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The area around the hotel is not the best, and there is not a lot to do around there. The hotel itself is kinda frightening ... from the outside, and the lobby smells like chemicals, but the room was clean, and nice enough to sleep comfortably. Not too bad for the price.

not worth saving ten bucks. staff was not friendly, most were actually rude to requests. we asked for an extra pillow so our ... two year old could stay on a bed... they said there were none. in an empty hotel on sunday night? then we asked for some extra blankets because the comforters were yellowed by god knows what in spots and had cig burns (in a NONsmoking room) and the desk clerk said, "i dont know if we have any and i dont have time right now." they obviously never came. the continental breakfast was gone by 8 when we went down there, on a monday morning and acted very put out when we asked if there was anything else coming. and there was nothing by the way. we would never stay there again. but we would go to the attached restruant which was great food, great service and a great menu.

Front Desk Staff was Friendly. The request I made with my reservation they did not meet. No ashtrays in my room. I asked for ... one and was told they did not have any. Kids running in the hall EARLY in the morning was annoying. I heard other patrons open their door and asked them to be quiet and was disrespected. I then got up and got dressed and left.

This is an older hotel, clean & safe for the money. Does need alot of outside maintenance, looks very dated. Outside ... entrances are not locked. A smoke odor does remain in the hallways of the hotel but non-smoking rooms are o.k. Otherwise hotel staff did respond efficiently.

I thought this hotel was great for the money. My husband and I particularly liked the restaurant associated with this hotel. ... It was clean and the staff were wonderful. The hotel was clean and the hotel staff was very curteous and helpful. The location was perfect for us to go and visit our son, his wife and new baby in downtown.
