National Day of Prayer Conference

The hotel was conveniently located to the conference site. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The only things ... that would have made it better for me would have been more of a variety on the continental breakfast bar and a treadmill so I could walk.

Just a place to
Visitor Sep 22, 2009
I guess we didn't expect much when we chose this place to stay. After all, it was a HoJos and they keep on top of things. We ... weren't worried. Doesn't each location have to pass inspection? We didn't expect the Ritz, but we also didn't expect it to be so run down. The furniture was outdated and the room did not have a clean feeling. Had to question whether it was a smoking room or not as we chose a non-smoking. It needed an airing out. Had to cover the chair with a towel as it was full of hairs. We were in town from NJ for a funeral, so the location was excellent but that's about all that was. I realize the breakfast was a Continental one, but the coffee was terrible and as I don't eat bakery items, the fruit could have been of better quality. In fact there were rotten spots on the oranges. Had to ask for tissues in the room as there were none.............enough said. It's true.....You do get what you pay for.

"The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
sunflowr Jul 27, 2009
Besides being noisy and some areas were dirty, it was a nice place. There was a great view of Pikes Peak from the front of ... the hotel, but on our side we could not see the mountains. However, during the night, the fire alarm went off around 4:00 a.m., getting us up in a panic. It was a false alarm, but a very scary experience.

Just used for a place to sleep
dwgustaf Jul 25, 2009
I just used the motel as more of a place to sleep at night as I was mostly out and about sight-seeing during the day. ... Overall the experience was good and the clerks were friendly. The only down part of the whole trip was that someone set off the fire alarm at about 4:40 in the morning, but I don't believe it was the fault of hotel staff. I believe one of the guests accidentally set off the alarm. Other than that I would still consider going back to this motel again if I'm in the area again.

The world traveller Jul 18, 2009
The Hotel was good overall but the breakfast in the morning was bad. Instead of offerng some decent eggs you only get boiled ... eggs that seem to be 2-3 days old. Also the dining area is small and gets crowded during weekends and you have to wait long in line. Rooms were clean and overall OK

Not what it looks like!
Coach Jul 14, 2009
We had booked this room for three nights. Bad Choice! We had a king size bed that had a cheese cloth cover which we guess was ... the sheet. Over that was a felt like material which was a blanket. Very short and would not come up to our necks. We spent most of the night trying to get some covers. The wireless internet never did work. Very weak signal. Only a few cable TV stations and no local TV. The breakfast was hard biscuts, sticky gravy, hard boiled eggs and dry cereal. They only had one toaster with two slots and you had to wait for many others to use it first. The eating area is very small and we had to stand to eat. We were on a three week vacation and this was the worst motel on the trip. Never again at a Howard Johnson motel.

I've stayed here quite a bit given the location it's in. The place is starting to go down-hill and is in need of ... renovations. I also usualy get a better deal and don't think it was worth the inflated price I payed due to summer season. We made three reservations for various people. Two reservations were there, but my husband's wasn't. The front-desk person was not very friendly or accomdating about it. My husband was tired from driving and meetings all day. We had the to find the email confirmation to show the front-desk. Not sure if it was the hotels or orbitz fault for the lost reservation. It finally got worked out. As for the hotel, the bed is hard and the pillows are flimsy. I also didn't care for the continental breakfast. I like the size of the room and the location though.

Howard Johnson Colorado Springs
kodiak Jul 6, 2009
Hotel was clean, in convenient location just off I-25 at north end of town--good area. It was a good value for price except ... the outdoor pool was tiny--not much larger than a big hot tub. Front desk clerk indicated guests were entitled to passes at a YMCA pool about 3 miles away, but we were not interested in that arrangement. A pool was a requirement in selecting our location, so we were very diappointed. Otherwise, everything was fine. The continental breakfast was actually a breakfast, including biscuits and gravy and hard-boiled eggs, as well as typical bagels and pastries. If a pool is not a requirement, this hotel provides worthwhile accommodations--more like 4.5 out of 5 for the money.

Great access to the Air Force Academy
Lois Sep 1, 2008
We were in Colorado Springs for the parent's weekend at the Air Force Academy. It was a busy time and we didn't spend much ... time in our room. It has been a very long time since I have stayed in a hotel with only full-sized beds. After years of sleeping in a king at home, it took some getting used to. Thankfully, we were very tired as the days were jam-packed. Our room was clean and freshened each day.

Sherry Jul 27, 2008
I was checked into a room that had been used. There were dirty towles, no toilet paper, dirty tub, dirty sheets, used coffee ... maker, full trash. No one had cleaned this room. I notified the front desk. I was told no one would be in toclean for another hour and ahalf. I ad just gotton in after 15 hours of drving. I was all moved in and very tired. i was offered another room. I was to tired to pack up and move. I told the desk to get me the clean towels and sheets and I would do it myself. I also cleaned my own tub and toilet. This is the most discusting place I have ever stayed. I will never go back. The breakfast was awful lookin but I never had any becasue there were so many people shuved into the little room that I could not even get in to get any.
