Originally built in 1956, Hotel Valley Ho became a hot spot for celebrities of the era with its inviting pool courtyard. Now this former hideaway for Hollywood's favorites reemerges after an $80 million rehabilitation as Scottsdale's hottest new urban resort and recaptures the flavor of its classic mid-century design.
Paying tribute to the original flavor of its classic mid-century design, Hotel Valley Ho reopened on December 20, 2005, as downtown Scottsdale's most exclusive luxury hotel. Originally a hideaway for Bogart, Bing and Marilyn, this Scottsdale hotel once again features spacious rooms with all-glass walls opening onto large private patios or balconies. New enhancements include the VH Spa (Vitality + Health) offering eight treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness facility for workouts overlooking the pool, a movement studio for private Yoga or exercise classes, music and massage in private cabanas, and dining at Cafe ZuZu, Trader Vic's, and the poolside Oh Pool Bar + Cabanas.
Summer Pool Policy: Effective 4/18/09 through 9/26/09 all pool guests MUST be a registered hotel guest of Hotel Valley Ho.
A maximum of 3 guest per king-bedded room and 4 guests per double-bedded room will be in effect. 3rd and 4th guests in a room will be charged $25.00 per night plus tax. There is no charge for children 17 years old and younger.

Super Fun Hotel With Great Retro Vibe!
Kim Aug 24, 2009
My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the hotel has all been redone in a hip ... mid-century style. The room was very modern and clean with a great bed. The location is awesome. Just a few blocks away is Old Town Scottsdale, where you can shop or hit restaurants or bars. We also went for happy hour to Trader Vics, which is on-site of the hotel. They have the best happy hour food 7 days a week, all for 1,2 or 3 dollars. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay there again. The only thing that wasn't for us, was the pool, which was very crowded and had loud music playing. It was perfect for 20 and 30 year olds, but a little too hardcore for us.

Try the Old Town Tortilla Factory a block east of the hotel on Main Street. They have a great patio, good food and killer margheritas!

Great place to stay in Scottsdale
Denise Aug 21, 2009
The hotel is beautiful, obviously just renovated. Beware of hidden and not so hidden costs though. For a cup of coffee in the ... morning at the cafe Zuzu, be prepared to shell out $3.50. Also, we were not aware that there is "mandatory" valet parking for $12.00 plus tax and of course tip per night. Valet staff and all hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is central to Old Town Scottsdale and the Arts district. Many good restaurants can be found a few blocks away on Scottsdale road.

Made a mistake - Don't stay here -
janaugusta Aug 17, 2009
My experience was not what I was used to. I hated staying in the motel part and the clerk did not offer a room in the hotel ... part. I did request a smoking room to be told it was all non-smoking, so I had no choice but to go outside in all kinds of weather. The only thing that the Valley Ho offers is a bar, restaurant and pool. I would have liked to have been able to go to a casino and shopping while there. This was the worst place I have ever stayed at, the clerk when I was checking out told me about a shop when I was leaving.

Nice Hotel...a bit of a party atmosphere
Still Honeymooners... Aug 16, 2009
My wife and I stayed at the Valley Ho to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was very clean, the bed was very ... comfortable and the decor was nice. We arrived on a Saturday evening around 4:30 and left our car with valet parking. We waited approx 5-7 minutes in line to check in. There was a very large group of people at the pool area and music being played very loudly; it seemed like a party going on. We had reservations for dinner at Trader Vics at 6PM and our dinner was excellent! Our stay was nice, but the other guests that we encountered during our stay seemed to be more into the drinking and partying and our neighbors who arrived back in their room around 2:30 AM were very loud. I am not sure I would reccomend this hotel for families or someone who just wanted a quiet relaxing stay.

The hotel staff were most friendly from the time that we drove up. You are then transported back to the 1950s. The hotel ... renovation is breathtaking as are the rooms. And, to complete the 50s atmosphere--aside from the ZuZu Cafe, there is a Trader Vic's on the hotel site. The room has a martini shaker and martini glasses instead of the old standbys. I could go on but you've got to see it to believe it! Great job!

Overall a Great Stay
GrandDad Aug 9, 2009
Really nice hotel. As "Over 60" Adults, we did not fully appreciate the (every) saturday Pool Party with DJ and blaring ... music, HOWEVER, if we were part of the Spring Break set, it probably would have been a blast !!! I was expecting to see MTV cameras there :-) The party was open to all folks in the area (for a fee - hotel guests free) and was over by 6pm, so that the pool was quiet and for guest use only by evening. The hotel remodel was great, with hip, stylish decor along with a retro feel, and it's right in the heart of Old Scottsdale, amidst the fabulous restaurants. art galleries, and clubs.

Nice Stay As Always
Road Warrior Aug 6, 2009
Always love staying here. Everyone is super nice. Did have a little issue with the A/C as it was noisy with a loud rattle. ... Called down to front desk to report and they said engineering would come look at it but due to it being summer, the A/C probably was just working hard. I returned and it still was rattling but oh well. Otherwise, a great place. Excellent fitness center and room service.

Very Hip, Retro Hotel Downtown!
Cindy Restaurant Property Owner Aug 3, 2009
I have been to this hotel before and love the large renovated rooms, particularly the Cabana rooms adjacent to the pool ... area. Cafe Zuzu located across from the Main Pool offers great food and service. Location is fantastic to Old Town Scottsdale and a multitude of restaurants and nightspots. My only regret is they weren't very accommodating on our room extension request. I would book this property again however.

There is a multitude of dining, nightlife and recreational activities within a short walking distance, however, the month of July seems to be the 'slowest' month for all businesses due to HEAT so they close early. You need to get there earlier than 8-9pm. Otherwise, had a great time!

I really enjoyed staying here. I was new to the area and felt comfortable being by myself. The pool was fantastic but very ... busy Saturdays. Poolside service was exceptional. The room was clean and very comfortable. I ate at Cafe ZuZu for breakfast and lunch. Great meals but expensive, good service and friendly wait staff. The concierge helped me find my way to a couple restaurants in the area both were fabulous recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.
