absolutely horrible experience!
Tiffany Sep 8, 2009
the hotel was beyond unsanitary...there were stains all over the carpet...pubic hair on the sheets...stains on the walls & 2 ... doors down was a strip club. we were so unhappy and disgusted with the hotel accomodations that we drove 6 hours back home. This was the first time i booked through orbitz...i will not ever do so again. orbitz did not display the true environment of this location & supplied us with a disconnected phone number to the hotel so that when we entered montreal we were unable to reach the hotel for directions on parking...the parking was located 2 blocks away. this was supposed to be a great weekend but we found ourselves in an unclean and uncomfortable environment.

Great value, great location, for youths

Friendly staff, flexible check-in. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. Rooms a little small, but just big enough to live in. ... My room had a cute little balcony you could access by climbing through the window, so we had a great view of the hippest part of Rue Saint Denis. Hotel is flanked by a delicious creperie and a gentleman's club, but we didn't run into any problems. We thought the juxtaposition was funny. Not the most luxurious place to stay in, but it's a good place to sleep and take a clean, hot shower after a night out!

The free breakfast was great. The guy that served the food was really nice. There wasn't a lot of choices, but everything was so good that it was fine.

There's a wonderful little breakfast-lunch place just a little ways down on the left from the hotel front. I can't remember the name but they're in the Fodor's book and you can look it up. Lots of food of all kinds very easily reached on foot.

I <3 hotel quartier latin
partyanimal Jul 13, 2009
Although small, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was so cute and friendly. I especially liked the man who ... served the continental breakfast. He always gave my friend and me an extra gigantic chocolate muffin. The staff was helpful and recommended some great clubs for us. The location was great, especially for young people who don't want to spend much money. There were a lot of fun things to do right by the hotel and if you aren't lazy, downtown, the old city, and chinatown are all within walking distance.

Small, dark, but clean and cheap
Cathy Oct 8, 2008
This was a good enough hotel, especially for the price and the location in the middle of Montreal. The rooms are tiny, but ... everything is clean. The room had its own hair dryer and it worked, a rarity in this price range. The desk clerk offered me rooms that faced the inside area and they were really dark, it looked like it was cloudy outside even when the sun was blazing, except on the 3rd floor. There's no elevator which can be a problem if you have really heavy luggage like I did, I chose floor 2. The doors have good locks on them, opened with a real key, I felt pretty secure. Homelessness is apparently a big problem in Montreal and many of them live nearby. There's a tiny parking lot in back of the hotel, which was quite nice to have. Staff members were all helpful and friendly and were glad to move cars to let mine be on the outer edge of the lot so I could exit in the early morning. Lots of food options available within an easy walk. Not a bad place at all for the money. I would stay again.

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at the Hotel. It was all about the location: right on Saint Denis Street, with all the ... surrounding shops, nearby Metro, and the place was very well-maintained. I think they do offer free breakfast as well, though I was not able to get up early enough to try it out. and The bottomline is that, for such location this hotel is a bargain. I will definitely stay at Hotel Quartier Latin again!

Value for money for a short stop
Dr. Juergen Sep 19, 2008
The Hotel Quartier Latin in Montreal attracted me as ideally situated to the Montral Central Bus Station, where I had to ... leave in the early morning. Thats why noise from the nearby Bus-Parking couldn't annoy me. i didn't expect a luxury Hotel but a clean and complete room - and i got it. The room was simply furnished but had know had no closet, only a clothes rail, for one night, this didn't matter for me.

Best location for Formula One
Scptt Jun 11, 2007
This is a no-frills hotel and not the best choice for families or couples who desire comfort. That being said, it is right ... in the heart of the City. Wonderful restaurants, pubs and shops all up and down St Denis Street. It is two blocks to the metro and one stop away from the track. The best location I can think of if you are visiting Montreal for the races. Great value for the money.

Small and basic
Lisa Jun 10, 2007
The Hotel Quartier Latin Montreal was an okay place to stay because it was close to where I needed to be, but really the only ... thing it has going for it is the location. The room was tiny, with a view of a wall. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were lumpy. The area has a few restaurants. I almost certainly would not stay there again unless everything else in town was booked up. It was not worth what I paid for my stay.
