Perfect!

My sister and i met with our families for a wedding north of Santa Barbara, but wanted to stay in SB on the beach. This was ... the perfect everything for us - the beach, close by with trail for running, the pool and jacuzzi to 'swim and relax' in, Sambo's for a great breakfest, and easily accessible to State Street shopping as well as fish and mexican restaurants.

A friend had suggested Los Agaves Restaurant, 600 N. Milpas, as a favorite restaurant with great food, and it was. My sister's family is from New Mexico, and they thought our meals rated amoung the best they've eaten.

Female business traveler traveling alone Oct 15, 2009
I found the service to be top notch! From the greeting when I arrived, to the special attention taken to direct me to ... restaurants to the excellent breakfast, all employees were very hospitable and went above and beyond expectations The beds were like heaven and the decor, both inside and out, lovely! The hotel location is wonderful for taking a walk to the marina, downtown, to the park or to the beach. I couldn't have asked for better! I'll be back.

I thought I was getting a reservation at a different hotel and clicked the buttom before I realized that I had made a ... mistake. The rate was the only good thing about this place, but even that was compromised once I realized I had to pay $10.00/day for parking and they don't even have enough spaces. I was lucky to get a spot, but several times, it was the last spot!

Great Deal for the Location
Have Fun Together Oct 6, 2009
Great Location. Room was basic, clean and comfortable. Hotel is between Stern's wharf & SB Harbor. Short walk each way. Our ... first time in Santa Barbara. Traveled by train & walked less than half mile from train station to Hotel. We used the Trolley to get around after that. We did the bus tour, Mission, Zoo, part of walking tour off State Street and a sunset harbor cruise. Loved the cruise.

Ordinary Oceana
Traveling Trace Oct 5, 2009
Super location, but the motel feel pervades everything, from the small rooms (in some buildings; others are bigger) to the ... tiny, frenetic breakfast area and the unglamarous swimming pools. The alley between some of the buildings and one of the pools is quite dangerous, with no warning signs and lots of large trucks! The decor is stylish, but the walls remain thin and the flooring cheap-looking. If we had paid full price for this (rather than the good deal we found [...]), we would have been very disappointed and annoyed. As it was, the location and price almost made up for the poor quality of the hotel, but we would not go back.

An attempt at being a nice hotel
Rvankoe Aug 27, 2009
The place looks great on the adds. In reality it has small rooms and charge extra for everything. They claim to have Wifi, ... but neither of my two laptops could connect. They didnt care, they have a TV internet you can pay $10 a day for. Thank god we didnt stay as long as we had planned. No AC and it was going to be hot. This could be very nice, but it misses the mark.

oceana Aug 1, 2009
Our stay at the hotel Oceana was a very nice experience. One thing I look for above all else is cleanliness, and the room was ... spotless. We were right across from the beach in between Stearns Wharf and the harbor pier, so had plenty of choices on places to go and things to see. One of the best restaurants we have ever dined at is located at the harbor pier called Bropheys, and had the absolute best steamed mussels you will ever eat. Go early because the place gets very crowded around dinner time. There is also a very authentic pirate bartender downstairs in the lounge. The hotel has a nice continental breakfast in the morning at 7:00, and will sedate your hunger in many different ways. Overall we will probably stay at the Oceana again although the rooms are on the pricey side.

Pleasant Weekend Getaway
Lisa Jul 31, 2009
The hotel staff was wonderful and attentive. We asked for fresh towels and had them delivered to our room within 5 ... minutes...we asked for a map of the wineries and they brought them to our room within 5 minutes...[...] (front desk) called and let us know when our room was available to check in, even though we were a few hours early...great service from all of the staff! The few things that we didn't like...the construction going on across the street starting at 7:30am that we were unaware of as we booked our stay...good thing we are early risers!! The complimentary cont. breakfast was a ZOO...too small of a space for all of their guests...however, there is a great diner, Sambo's, next door! The bathroom shower tile wasn't super clean.

The hotel was very property was very large, it had to pools, a 24hr fitness center, and a fairly decent complimentary ... breakfast. The hotel room was nicely decorated and we received a wonderfully located room, with private access to the pool from the room. The guest service was excellent and my wife and I enjoyed the surprising quietness of the room, even though it was located right on the street. The only thing I was displeased with was the parking fee that they forgot to mention until checkout, especially since the only convenient spot, when we returned in the evening, happened to be on the street off of the property. Everything else was wonderful, and my wife and I enjoyed our self.

We so enjoyed our stay! Our room we so pleasant, and the gounds were beautiful! My husband has been on anticancer ... treatment, so this was a great place for him to enjoy sitting outside and looking at the ocean, and the harbor. The room was also very pleasant for him to relax in! The location was also great for stepping outside and walking along the waterfront, or taking the downtown shuttle down State St. The only thing we did not like was the extra charge for parking. One night we went to dinner, came back, and couldn't find a space to park, even though we paid for it!

We loved taking the downtown shuttle! It only costs 25 cents to ride the shuttle downtown. We would also recomment dining at The Palace for fantastic cajun food!

The hotel appears to have undergone recent remodeling. The rooms were fresh and bright with crisp linens on the bed. I had ... one of my best night's sleep ever! My room opened onto a terrace from which I could sit and look at the beach, ocean and marina - awesome! From check-in until check-out, the service was exceptional, friendly and professional. I looked in at the fitness area and swimming pool - wishing I had more time to enjoy both of these. There are many good restaurants in the area and most are just a short walk from the hotel. This in no way detracts from the hotel. The morning continental breakfast was nicely done. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was very happy with my choice.
