Nice oasis in the middle of the city
teacher beth Nov 16, 2009
Very lovely employees who were willing to help. Comfortable beds with spotless bathrooms with modern decor. A little slow ... to deliver a cot needed for 1 friend, after we were sure that the room would have 2 queen sized beds. The beds were double beds at best. Very tiny fitness room. Great free wine at happy hour. Some light snacks to go w/ it at the price we were paying would have been a nice touch. All in all very good.

I was there on a business trip and enjoyed the hotel. This new Kimpton location is a real find. Good location, close to ... shopping mall, great Fresh-Food-Deli market and coffee place across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. Gym well equipped for a hotel gym. Great restaurant and bar on site. Room on top floor was roomy, nicely done, clean and brand new. Great lounge area with fireplace where they serve coffee and free wireless.

Not only was this one of the nicest facilities, the staff was the most helpful, friendly, and attentive of any stay I have ... ever had anywhere. Management was really on top of supervising a very well trained staff. I will being going back to this Hotel on every trip to Baltimore.

Great location and first class
Kathy Nov 2, 2009
The hotel is the old B & O railroad office building - with all the exquisite marble carving, brass fixtures, and high ... ceilings. Very urban and chique! Lobby and common area were very inviting and the room was large, decorated with a modern trendy decore, bathrooms were impressive with tile, granite, and an open shower. You couldn't beat the location - 4 blocks from the Inner Harbor. Wonderful.

Great location with value to match
Short Time Visitor Oct 22, 2009
Great hotel...we especially enjoyed the 5 PM wine reception. The reason for our travel was to visit Johns Hopkins ... Hospital. Not only was this location close to the airport and hospital, it was a convenient location to the Inner Harbor which offered a wide variety of dining options. Our only complaint was the parking. I wish I had known the only parking was valet at $36/day.

Great view

I loved the location. We walked out of the hotel and went straight about 4 blocks and we were at the harbor. The water taxi ... which was $18 for two, and was an all day pass was great. You can ride it all over. We went to the Fells Point Fun Festival and went to a place called DuClaws. If you like beer you have to go here $10 for a sampler tray (11 beers) that they brew there. The Hard Rock is maybe a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the ball field is about the same. The service was great and very friendly. This was my first experiance with room service. Way too pricey for what you get. Total bill was $26 for a scoop of ice cream and a glass of butterscotch pudding. Crazy.

Take the water Taxi. Ride all day for $9 each. Save the walk. Tell them where you want to go and they will get you close.

Kimpton leads the hotel world with fun, out of the ordinary properties and they excelled with their Baltimore Monaco. Great ... staff (their hallmark) leads the experience, along with spacious rooms (18 foot ceilings), and great interiors.

Great Location!
Anthony Sep 19, 2009
Upon arriving at the hotel (9-11-09) it was raining very hard. We were quite disappointed that the valet team was not on ... duty, or was not interested in getting wet. I had to get out of the vehicle to go inside to ask who was working. The staff assisted with our luggage, and directed us to the main lobby are ato check in. After being in D.C. all week at a hotel where service seemed to be everything, I was quite disappointed that we were not treated the same way on our last night on the east coast. We chose to spend only one night in Baltimore so that we could be closer to the airport. On the elevators, staff will get on and totally ignore customers. The worst was that at 11 o'clock at night, we were able to clearly hear conversation from the adjacent room. I did complain about that and was told if it persists I should notify the front desk and they would handle it. As beautiful as the hotel is, I would have been even more impressed if the staff had been friendlier. The cookies at 4 o'clock adds a warm touch, but with a sour staff, we were reluctant to enjoy the cookies in the lobby area so we took them to our room. Oh, before I forget, bad, bad, that guests are charged for the use of the internet. The location of the is great in that we were walking distance from the aquarium and the other main attractions. Would we stay here again???? It's questionable. Beauty is only on the surface, but in this case, it does not run deep.

The hotel Monaco was wonderful to stay at. It was located within a short walking distance to Baltimores Inner Harbor ,and ... Camden Yards where we saw the Baltimore Orioles vs. the New York Yankees. The Hotel was everything it said it was and more.
