Overall the Hotel Flamboyant was nice

oldscouple May 28, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The hotel was overall nice, the location was quiet, on the lagoon side of the island, nice quiet place to lounge on the beach ... and the water center was always nice and willing to help. The pool was a little cold, not heated, and we never found the hot tub! but we had the ocean. Free breakfast, was not the best! so don't plan on it. We stayed a week and never got new sheets, but we never asked for them, so if you want clean towels and sheets you need to ask. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. If you don't speak french don't plan on watching any good tv the selection is slim and all in french. But overall for the price it was a good place to stay and good service.

Decent Place

Alison Dec 29, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

It is a European hotel, with the toilet separate from the shower, and a general feeling like many of the accomodations I have ... stayed at in Italy and France. It is not a Four Seasons in the US. The bed was a true king sized bed, but the mattress was not super comfy. However, the room was large (more of a suite, really), and it was quiet. The pool is great, with a bar right next to it, and the little beach on Simpson Bay is a nice place to soak up some sun. The staff was helpful in calling taxis and arranging a car rental. I only ate at the bar, not the main restaurant, and it was fine for a snack, but with the great restaurants in Grand Case in Marigot, I did not plan on eating at the hotel. The grounds are pretty with tropical plants and flowers. The location is decent - we walked to Marigot, but I live in New York and walk everywhere. It is not that far from the Dutch side, the Atlantis and the casino in Maho. Baie Rouge is beautiful and not too far a walk away. Overall, I enjoyed the trip.

Good price for French Side/great pools

Gary Mar 10, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

The Hotel Le Flamboyant, on the French side, St. Martin worked fine for our needs. The rooms were large with patios, equipted ... with mini fridge, small stove and sink, kind of unusual. The hotel is on Simpson's Bay, not the ocean, very pretty but it is best if you have a car to drive to all the fabulous beaches close by. The guests at the hotel seemed to be from all over....which was fun. The hotel is minutes from Marigot, so that was great also. So yes, we would recommend and we own two hotels in the states.
