Would stay here again!
Bella1980 Oct 26, 2009
We were in Rome for just one night after a cruise around Italy and chose this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. ... We were not disappointed. The location was fantastic, literally steps from the Spanish Steps and a short walk to Trevi Fountain. The staff was very friendly and spoke English very well. The room was large (by European standards) and very clean. They arranged for an airport shuttle that was on time and much less expensive than a taxi. They also included a free breakfast which was not just pastries and fruit, it had the works...eggs, toast, yogurt, cheese & meats, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. Would definitely stay here again. My only complaint was the noise (we were right on the street) due to leaving the window open. There was no a/c in our room. You could probably avoid this by asking for a room that doesn't face the street. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Have the hotel arrange the shuttle for transfer to the airport. It was much less than taking a taxi and we had the van to ourselves.

Hotel Internazionale, Rome

This was a short shopping/dining trip to Rome, so central location was a must. The hotel provided excellent service at the ... front desk and helped find adresses, call for reservations, etc. The personnell was very friendly and knowledgeable, and always available to help. Rooms were small but very clean, excellent bathrooms. If you have a room at the front be aware that it might be noisy for you (the windows are not all new in this hotel). The furniture has some age, and some beds would need replacement (have seen that in several Italian hotels though). All in all a very enjoyable place, will come back.

While in Rome be prepared for lots and lots of walking. Purchase the breakfast offer to prepare and energize you for your ... busy and exciting day. We started off with a Hop On, Hop Off bus tour to become familiar with the city and from there the adventure began. Hotel Internazionale is conveniently located near Piazza Spagna (Spanish Steps to Foreigners) and the thrilling and enchanting shopping district. Be ready to do lots of shopping at all of the designer stores and afterwards reward yourself with a delicious gelato snack.

Hotel Internazionale- Rome, Italy-June17

Joined by relatives who flew over from Ireland to be with us....a bit ashamed at the "quality" of the hotel Originally ... signed up on Orbitz for the $196 special room rate, and ended up being charged $227 for our room. Would not have stayed there had we been aware of the charge, even though I did check after receiving Orbitz confirmation that we were charged the $227.Too late to change because we had already confirmend with relatives who made reservations there subsequently. Because relative spoke fluent Italian we were treated a bit more respectfully than had we spoken only in English This stay was at the end of a luxurious 16 day cruise on Oceania, so we were unprepared for the lack of quality

Novice Traveller But Learning Fast Jul 3, 2009
As first time travellers to "Roma" without a tour group we were very reliant on the reviews we read on Orbitz and other ... sites. In view of this. Hotel Internationale on Via Sistina is really a great location. It is relatively quiet, the staff is curteous yet reserved, breakfast is adequate and very typical of what you should expect (cheese, tomatoes, sliced meat, bread, pastry, cereal, yogurt, fruit and GREAT espresso, soggy eggs and limp bacon...but opt for the proscuitto and toast!!)You are close to EVERTHING. The spagna (Spanish Steps)are just up the block and Piazza Barberini is just a 10 minute walked in the opposite direction. Trevi Fountain is about the same distance southeast of the hotel and a GREAT little supermarket (local food, fresh fruit, water--29 cents a half liter, shampoo, etc.)is just south of piazza Barberini on Via National--follow via dellae Quatro Fontane (Via Sistina turns into this after Barberini square) to via Nationale turn right on your right is a non descript doorway into a bustling supermarket! Great deli area too. Remeber the hotel is a restored centuries old building, the plugs do not accomodate current adapters (for flat irons or curling irons)and the lift is often broken as well as very small. The advertised rooftop terrace is usually closed. Overall the hotel is very clean, safe and well located but very old and historic [with airconditioning updates:)]Value is in the location but keep in mind there are several other more modern hotels within the same proximity.
Traveler type: Family
WALK to the market on Via Nationale to save money on food but particulary WATER. For less than 4 euros you can have 6 liters of water when a single bottle of about 1/2 liter costs an average of 1.50 euros in all the Bar/Cafes.

Don't believe what you see!
The Americans May 2, 2009
We did a lot of research before our trip to pick the very best hotel that Rome had to offer, but still remain in our price ... range. After weeks of narrowing our choices down, we finally picked Hotel Internazionale. We were very disappointed when we finally arrived. The pictures that we looked at on their website to help us make our decision were distorted and misleading. Our room looked nothing like the pictures we saw. Since these hotels have a "no cancellation" policy upon your arrival, there is nothing you can do about it. We were stuck with it. (I would really like one of the employees there to go up to Room 35 and try to take a shower in it! Besides being way too small, the shower curtain is too long and lays across the drain so that the water fills up the shower basin.) I do have to say, though, that it is very close to the Spanish Steps and great shopping, too!

If you are going to go to the Hassler Hotel for dinner, you'd better take out a small loan beforehand! Our dinner came to $379.00 USD, which included a bottle of wine that we got charged double the price we thought we picked out!! We even shared the appetizer and the pasta dish, but got our own entre! The view and the service were amazing, though, which is really what you are paying for!
