Great hotel. Definitely plan on staying there again, and strongly recommend. The staff is wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable ... and went out of their way to help. Fantastic pools- 3 of them total. Private access to beach. We even got a beautiful view of someone's wedding on the beach from the pool! Close to main drags, super clean, great views and no annoying timeshare salespeople like I have experienced in other hotels....no complaints.

Travelling duo Aug 18, 2009
We stayed at Finisterra from 8/8 - 8/15. This was our third time in Cabo and third location. Last year we stayed on Medano ... Beach and thought we'd try the Pacific side. We enjoyed the quietness of the Pacific---no vendors, no screaming kids and young adults. The pools at the Finisterra were terrific--very big and clean. Often my husband and I were the only ones in the pool. Finisterra sits close the the end of the marina. The resort offers a shuttle to end the of their hill, then it's up to you to walk into town, take a taxi or the local bus. We often walked into town, no big deal (make sure you have comfortable shoes and water, especially in the summer). Great happy hour by the pool everyday 2-4 two for one drinks. Great nachos also. Recommend this resort to anyone who enjoys a nice quiet place with a great view of the Pacific. Almost forgot, our first room was on the 4th floor, our view was the palm trees. Next room was on the 6th floor---much better. Staff very polite and friendly. We find tipping 2.00 for the shuttle ride was very helpful

I was very surprised when we arrived at the hotel. It was a beautiful location. My boyfriend and I loved every moment spent ... there. Definitely going back. We did rent a car and didn't really need it. The hotel shuttle is useful going u and down the hill, which the hotel is located at. Really recommend this place. It is not far from downtown and marina. And, hotel staff is very nice.!

Under construction as is all Cabo 7/12
Juan Vacationer Jul 18, 2009
Nice clean beautiful place with nice pools and good room cleaning. Internet access was so poor I could not use it. They have ... free wi fi but it is so weak you have to go to the lobby to use it. And it still cuts out. There are also no outlets in the lobby so your laptop better have a real good battery. If you ask about internet access they will charge $5 per hr to use a lobby computer because they dont know much and cant communicate well. You pay for an hour even if you use it for 1 minute. Opon arrival, a guy comes out to lug your 2 bags and get money. They also tried to get me to use valet parking when there is a parking lot. Of course most of cabo is this way. They think tourists have so much money to throw away. Also, as of 7/12/09, half the hotel including the fitness center, business center, Blue Marlin restaurant and bar was closed under construction. Warning: nearly all of the streets in downtown Cabo are currently torn out and the smell of sewage gas permeates the whole downtown area and half the marina. It is a dirty dusty stink hole. The bars, restaurants, and hotels are empty.

Finesterra Review
The Mays Jun 27, 2009
The hotel was under renovations while we were there but they still tried to accomodate us by keeping the pool restaurant open ... late since the other restaurants were not open. The view of the Pacific was great and the pools were the best part of the hotel. Also the location is perfect if you want to dine out or go to bars as it is right off the Marina where there is a lot to do.

We ate at Mi Casa which is just off the marina and the food was spectacular. Also, we loved and heard great things from other about Solomon's landing in the marina.

GREAT VACATION
littlebrazil Jun 1, 2009
This place was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got a great package deal. Flight + 7 days for $600 each!!! probably ... due in part to the swine flu scare (totally bogus by the way) and traveling a little off season (last week of May) which left us the whole place practically to ourselves. The weather was great (low 90's the whole time). Five minute walk to bars and restaurants( though the hotel has a great swim up bar and restaurant outside next to the pool). Right on the beach (only down side is you're not supposed to swim in the ocean. I tried but wouldn't recommend it. steep incline and strong undertow) Overall I had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone.

Be wary walking along the marina. We got accosted every night by street vendors (some legit and some as fronts for selling drugs. so I guess it depends on what you're into) as well as people standing in front of every bar and restaurant trying to persuade you to come in. gets old after a while.

AS May 28, 2009
This hotel is in a great location, close to dining and shopping. The hill to hotel can be walked easily. We got a great price ... and it was all very well worth it. Dining in the hotel was limited but worked for what we needed. Parts were under remodel and not all amenities were open.We ate at Olé Olé and that was some of the best lobster and steak, very friendly staff there. Well worth the price and great location.

We had a great time and were pleasently surprised by the views. It was great to be so high up in the area; but the hill you ... had to walk up and down several times a day became a bit of a chore. Don't plan to exercise at the hotel.. but you can run on the beach and through the marina. Decent staff; the bar tenders and wait staff were very friendly.

Pretty Good Hotel for the area
Rick Oct 14, 2008
This was definetly one of the cleanist hotels in the area, our room had a great view of pool and pacific ocean, (upgraded ... Room). Pool was a great place to swim, eat and have some drinks. Bar staff were very nice and friendly, food was very good, nothing like the Pacifico's and Nacho's! one big negative for me, maybe not others, the in room coffee makers were not stocked with coffee packets? you had to call down everyday for someone to bring you coffee packets for your maker? why have it in the room then? Hotel is very near the Marina, walking distance to all the downtown flavor. Hands down with a little walking, Pepe's was the best Taco's in town, open late and cut fresh in front of you get the al pastor! I honestly would say I would probably stay elsewhere next time just because of location, if you want to play in the warm waters of the sea of cortez check out hotels on that side. all and all a very nice hotel.

The 'Hotel Finisterra' was a quiet, but very friendly hotel. The staff was excellent and ready to help cater to any of our ... needs. We received prompt service down by the pool, which was nice in the hot weather. It was not too busy either, so it was not loud or out of control either at the hotel or by the pool. We only ate at one restaurant, but the food was wonderful and it was a nice selection. It was within walking distance to downtown and the marina as well. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Cabo!

What a Hill
Craig Oct 1, 2008
This hotel is located on the beach,But don't swim in the ocean there. It has three great pools for swimming, food and drink ... poolside with great service, Aah!!! The hotel has many sections with the restaurant being located at the highest point, cliffside. When returning one night from my ventures into the local nightlife, like the Giggling Marlin. Which was a nice stroll to sober up some. Upon my return, the guard ask for name & room number, verified and let me pass. Now this was my first time here and returning late at night, being unfamiliar with the exact road to hotel/room location. I start hiking down the first road to the right at the Wye, which was a little up hill at first, and was surrounded by hotel Casitas and Parking Garage. My climb start turning more vertical and upon reaching the top discovered I was at the restaraunt. Basically I just walked straight up a seven story hill, luckly there is a bridge that connected over to my tower. which I was able to cross and hop on the elevator and go down, a couple of floors to my room. Talk about a sobering experience, also slept like a baby that night. I do need to say the air conditioning system worked great, It was pretty humid place and temps got up to 103 degrees. My only disappointment was I asked them for a referal to a good restaurant with Seafood and exspecially the local Lobster. They reccomended a place called the Lorenzillo's it was the worst lobster I ever had and extremely over priced. Went to a place the next night that a friend recomended called La Gondolleria which was cheaper and a 100 percent better.
