My wife and I loved it. Our room faced the pacific and we enjoyed the dive shows in the evening. The Ocean moderated the ... tempature with cool ocean breezes. The staff was responsive to our needs and treated us with respect and immediate attention. the hotel is located in traditional acapulco (old) and that was fine with us because we weren't around all the other turistos. Also, the Hotel did a good job of keeping the street vendors away from the patrons. Food was excellant, service great, and though my wife and I do not speak spanish, eventually everyone figured it out. I would have liked wifi excess from the hotel, but there are plenty of internet cafes nearby. If a walker is required, wheelchair, or heart condition, you may want to think twice about El Mirador, because of all the stairs. I will stay there again if I'm back in Acapulco.

Small shops, cafes, The old church and center and the port of acapulco all were within 15 minutes walking. If you used the taxis, then essentially everything was within 20 minutes and the prices were cheap, with the Hotel Mirador offering fair guidance with the posting of the taxi rates to various locations.
