The room did not have a thermostat that we could control the room temperature, When we asked about it all they said was that ... they were in heat mode, Normally you can adjust the thermostat but not in room 905. Also we werent sure what is was but every 15 or 20 minutes there was a loud noise outside that sounded like an airplane flying over, It wasnt an airplane though, I think it may have been the sound of the elevator, It was very loud and it did it all night long.

We were able to get a room with a good view, but you could hear every conversation coming from the room next door, kids ... running in hallways, children jumping and running in the room above us. I dont like to complain, but I had enough. The valet service almost expects tips. I gave tips the whole time I was there but one time I didnt have any cash with me and I told him, Im sorry I did not have a tip this time, the valet guy gave me a dirty look and just walked away. So I stopped tipping the rest of the time I was there. But the best time was at the casinos and anywhere but the hotel.

The hotel was the most afordable. $143.59 for one night, Saturday into Sunday, but only through [@]. I called the hotel ... directly when planning our trip and there weren't any rooms for under $250 for one night. The room was very clean (not the Rio in Vegas for sure), but I did not feel like I had to second guess the use of everything. It was very quiet and not a lot of foot traffic, which I like, but come to find out, they are under new management and the new owners are in the process of getting a certain type of gambling license so currently they are only allowed 200 slot machines. There are a few bars and a couple of pool tables, but no tables (black jack, poker etc.). The hotel doesn't look like much when you walk in, but they do have a buffet (no review as I did not eat there), a starbucks and a really good 24-hour restaurant. I would definately come back. I felt that I did get my monies worth. I did not interact with house keeping, but the front desk and even the arcade attendants were very nice and helpful.

John in San Jose Aug 25, 2009
The room that we were in had magnificent view. The hotel also has a crystal-clear swimming pool. Those were what we enjoyed ... most from the hotel. Unfortunately the experience was ruined by the non-working heater in a cold night and annoying elevator noise throughout the night. When we reported this to the front desk, we were told that they'd send an engineer to fix the heater (that unfortunately never came). When we talked to a different hotel associate, he acknowledged that a lot of heaters were not working and there were indeed a lot of complaints of the elevator noise. I wish they had taken a better care of their customer by moving us to a different room, which they didn't do (after all, it was a Sunday night that shouldn't be a busy night for them; in addition, we bought the room on full advertised price, and not from a "name your own price" site where you sometimes get an inferior room). Compared to previous trips to similar age and condition hotel, this was a sub-par experience. I probably wouldn't go back unless they're the only one with room available :).

I was just staying the night with my Mom and sister. We had two doubles. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and I usually do ... not complain about beds! The hotel was a little more on the average/cheaper side of the star rating system. The 24 hour restaurant was a bonus and was reasonably priced. The staff at the 24-hour was not the best. Our waiter pretty much sucked but maybe his gf broke up with him or something. The Casino does not have card tables either. All and all it was good for the night but if you are spending several days at your hotel you might want to go elsewhere.

The hotel is in a great location close to beach access for launching our kayaks. We were surprised by the fact that the ... casino had filed for bankruptcy so it was rather quiet. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the cabaret show looked like it would have been a lot of fun if we had enought time to see it.
