Do not stay in bungalows....
MelKev Nov 18, 2009
I booked a room in their bungalows. The room is VERY small and not the cleanest. There were stains on the carpet, the sink ... and shower were clogged. When i went to hang up a towel, the holder came off the wall and on to the floor. When the guests next door came home, we could hear their entire conversation through the wall. The pool was supposed to be a big attraction with a swim-up bar. There was nothing swim-up about it. You have to get out of the pool to go to the bar. I did not see Hooter girls walking around the pool. Also there was rarely a bartender out there. I must say we complained about our room and were immediately upgraded to their main hotel which was great. Unfortunately the bungalows still left a bad taste in our mouth. We wished we would have spent more on a nicer hotel.

Staying at this particular hotel keeps you within a very short walk to some of the fanciest hotels/casinos in Vegas. You get what you pay for at this place, but if the price is significantly cheaper than at MGM/Mandalay Bay/New York New York/etc., and you are working on a budget but wanting to remain close to those places, Hootrs is not a bad choice.

Dont eat at the LUXOR More buffet!!! It really sucks and has bland food. Also the hotel needs a breakfast buffet. It would have been nice to wake up and go directly to the breakfast buffet instead of having to search the area for a decent place to eat.

This hotel is located right across from the MGM only 1 block or so from the strip so very close but far away enough so if your looking to just relax and get away from the rat race and unwind well is ideal for me and I do plan to go back to this hotel again next year more or less the same time as I did this year .

Great Location, Marginal Decor
Marybeth Super Nov 13, 2009
The hotel was really outclassed by the other hotels in the area. With the exception of the swimming pool/waterfall area ... (which was fantastic!), the hotel seemed in need of a serious remodeling. The carpets were old and worn, the hardwood floors were nicked up and the casino itself just didn't stack up compared to the glamourous casinos of the nearby surrounding hotels. We ate at both the namesake restaurant as well as at Dan Marino's which is also in the hotel. We were underwhelmed by the food at both (although the prices were reasonable and service was fine).

The hotel has a beach scene that is relaxing and seems as if its summer all year long. We had a decent view from our room on ... the 18th floor, which I thought I would get a bungalo, but for the little time I spent in the room it wasnt really important. The casino was pretty small but cozy and fun. Its on the strip so theres other big casinos within walking distance. There was a $10 per night charge(that i didnt read about)(my bad)for using their workout room, pool, and some other anemieties that you have to pay for wheather you use them or not. but it was still a great deal. Dont leave there without trying their famous hot wings and chilli cheese fries TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!!

The Hotel was nice and clean. The room was above average for the 20 dollar price. There was some noise and talking heard ... during the night which didnt allow for a good nights sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely enjoyed the 100 dollars in free slot play. Although I would suggest that they just allow a player to use the 100 dollars without all the strings attached. I was able to get my slot machine up to 3,000 but was not allowed to cash out. I needed to reach a "jackpot" on the machine in order to win a prize, which I did not. Oh well it killed an hour. It wasnt the best trip to Vegas but it was still fun.

For the price, the room was fine. However, we were not allowed to check in until after 3 pm. The hotel is in the direct ... path of every helicopter in Vegas taking off or landing and they went directly over head all day and night. Very disturbing while trying to relax at the "resort" pool we had to pay extra for weather we used it or not. Gym was small and confined. I think I got food poisoning at Dan Marino's. The only meal we ate there. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Remer Nov 11, 2009
We have visited Las Vegas MANY times and this was by far the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was rude, and ... very unfriendly. We stayed 3 nights, we had to call to have towels brought to our room 4 times when we got there! Our room wasn't clean the first day AT ALL, so we again had to call for towels. When we went down to the front desk the next morning to find out if there was a reason why it wasn't cleaned the staff sais, "it just wasn't!" So needless to say it wasn't cleaned the next day either! The hotel itself was dirty and rundown.

Trip to SEMA in Las Vegas
TropicalVette Nov 8, 2009
[...] it always had an "old" smell to it. The rug was dirty, the bed had lumps and was tilted to one side. I never had ... any additional soap placed in the bathroom, so I had to bathe using a paper slim piece of soap, by the end of the week. After I left for my home I have developed a rash on my extremities that could be attributed to the soap or the water. The hotel lobby was noisy, full of cigarette smoke and the whole place looked as if it hadn't been painted or even cleaned for a long time. Since the hotel casino is right smack in the middle of the smallish lobby every loud and rowdy individuals playing the tables made you a participant of their fortune or misfortune. I asked one of the employees working in the lobby area to help me get one of those magazines that give details about places to go in Las Vegas and she said that it wasn't her job; that I needed to ask someone else. One good thing that happened was that upon my arrival, the person in the front desk told me that they didn't have a non-smoker and that she would get me one for the next night. The next day I saw her again and she helped me get a much better room, which was a non-smoker. She was very good at her job and I wish I knew her name to let you know that she was the best. When leaving the hotel, walking towards the "Strip", there where individuals in the surroundings that looked like junkies waiting for an opportunity, this made me feel un-safe. The areas outside of the hotel domains are very dark and dangerous looking. The parking lot is small and it wasn't easy to find a spot. I won't ever stay at that hotel again.

Read some not so great reviews on this site after I booked the trip so I was skittish about the whole thing. Luckily I ... arrived to find out they were wrong. Had a little problem checking in(on my end, not theirs)and they were so cool about it and took care of me. And the hallways looked not so impressive(but what did I care for I was staying in a room) but the room I got looked pretty much what it looked like in the pictures on the site. Nice sized room overlooking the pool. Wasn't a perfect room but it was just fine. Pretty comfy bed. Location was perfect. Not too far from the airport and the strip was right up at the corner(The MGM was like right across the street). Everybody there was pretty nice. The restaurant there had pretty good service. So I can't complain about the service. Didn't check out the pool but there were plenty of spots to catch some rays(with waitresses that came out for drink orders which was cool) Casino was kinda small compared to other places but then it gave it a cozy more feel which was great. On my next trip to Vegas I'm definitely keeping it as one of my top options of where I'm staying.

If you don't feel like driving around the strip, try the Duece bus which is right up the corner from the hotel. For $7 you could ride the double decker bus for 24 hours from when you bought it and $15 for 3 days from when you bought it. Goes the whole strip all the way to downtown Las Vegas and back.

poor expectation
gambler Nov 1, 2009
The start of my vacation was bad because of the 3 hour flight delays, but for the hotel I was disappointed because i had ... stayed there last year and was very pleased with the place. This year for being a return customer I expected to be treated better then what i was. Fist the room was in the farthest location of the floor which was also at the front of the hotel where I could hear people and cars all night and morning long (poor sleep). Last year my window was outside the pool. I was charged for bottle water, last year i was not. I was charge $6.50 per day for supposed extra security, pool (which should of been included "always") and health club (which i used once). This should of been included in my package and not a surprise when i got there. Now i have a little marketing tip for the hotel. You advertise $3 blackjack but you only have 1 or 2 tables as such, even though the other tables are empty. You may want to open more because its better to make $3 than nothing, plus when people see a lot of other people playing the action creates excitement and other people will want to stay and play even at a higher game of $5 then $10. An empty house make people leave to look for a more exciting place! You also may want to lower the drink cost at the bar area because some people would stay and drink if it wasn't so expensive. I like to watch football and sometimes just talk for a while in-between my gambling, but i won't sit aroung for $7 a bottle of beer, I'll go somewhere else and I did! Remember it's better to make a little than nothing and more people creates action and people flock to action.

Well, I'll say that everything worked. If you just need a place to crash near the airport, it's dirt cheap and fits that ... bill. Otherwise, it seems pretty obvious that the H00ters casino was some other failed casino that H00ters bought, added some tiki stuff to and called it a party spot. It just feels frumpy, lame, and the staff is mailing it in. Don't get me wrong - I'll stay there again if I need a place to crash before an early flight out of Vegas, but I'm not interesting in being there and awake for anything else.
