Worst Ever!!!

We found a used condom beside the night table friday night. Saturday the "baked" biscuits were obviously microwaved. That ... evening we were told the reason there was no hot water was that we had to wait for hot water to travel the pipes from the 15th floor. It took 30min for it to get to the 7th floor!! It very nearly ruined a blues and bar-b-que weekend. I was happy to leave!!!

Smoke Filled Non-Smoking Room
Non-Smokers Beware Sep 2, 2009
Stayed the weekend. Friday night was fine, but woke up Saturday morning to my throat being dry and the room smelling like ... someone had lit up a cigarette in the bed next to me, but neither I nor my girlfriend smoke. I'm not talking about old stench from previous smokers, I mean currently being smoked cancer. The smell would come and go, but the hotel would do nothing about it, except "we'll have someone look at it."

Fair but not excellent
Weary Traveller Jun 28, 2009
The hotel is in a great location next to the Peabody, but the parking facilities are cramped and filled up completely during ... the day and were a hassle to navigate in a truck. Further, the parking garage was served only by a service elevator which was unbearably slow and kept us waiting for 10 minutes out in the 100 degree heat with luggage and all. The room was very poorly sound insulated both towards the street and the hallway which caused the obvious sleeping problems and in spite of its non-smoking classification it stank to high heaven of old tobacco smoke. Other than the reek it was very clean and the bathroom was spotless, however. Finally, the staff at the front desk were not very efficient and kept me waiting while several of them dealt with just one (dissatisfied) customer. All in all, not a disaster, but shaky enough that I will still look for other lodging next time I`m in Memphis.

The hotel was as I suspected. Great location! Most attractions within walking distance (Beale St. Gibson Guitar, Stadium, ... Dining). Had to pay $12/day to park at the hotel. The room was dingy and dated, but it is what I expected and what I paid for. All together good deal.

Happy traveler May 2, 2009
The location of the hotel is wonderful. 2 blocks from Beale street. 2 blocks from Main street (where the trolley runs) and ... across the street from the Peabody Hotel (where the duck go in and out of the fountain during the day). The only bad part was the sanitation workers did pickup at 4am and woke me up. It took 20 minutes to finish the block and by then, I was wide awake, but it was still well worth the stay, I'm sure if you stayed at the Peabody the same noise would have been just as loud.

I wanted to pick nightlife, dining, entertainment for this section, all are within a very short walk. Civil Rights museum is maybe 6 blocks from the hotel or you can take the trolley, Beale street is 2 blocks for all the blues and bbq you could want, and if you want high end ribs, the Rondevous is right next door. You get to smell the smoker all day in the hotel and it's like heaven.

Great Location
Sheryl Sep 17, 2007
The location was wonderful. There is a $10 a day parking fee added on to the room which I believe is totally bogus. If you ... stay in a hotel you should get free parking. The front desk staff were not very helpful. Everytime I wanted to ask a question and once had to get my room card rekeyed I felt as if I was intruding. They did not smile and acted as if I was interuppting their personal time. Not very accomadating at all.
