Great Place To Stay For A Football Game
Brian Hawaiian Sep 28, 2009
Drove to Seattle from Portland for a football game at Quest. The hotel is across a highway from the Space Needle, which ... required a walk through a fairly dicey part of town to get to the monorail. The hotel had an excellent shuttle arrangement to/from Quest Field for the game however, which made it all worthwhile. The hotel staff was both friendly and helpful.

the staff was friendly but i found unpopped popcorn and gum wrappers inside the sheets of my bed the first night, so it's not ... the cleanest place. the location is also a bit awkward if you are walking to/from the space needle - it's on the other side of a major road (aurora) which only has one road crossing it (denny way), so you always have to back track there.

I would have preferred to stay in the Ride Free Zone of Seattle's downtown area but this hotel was out of that zone. (This ... should noted in highlights of location). There was blatant [*] nearby around the hotel. Not to say the hotel was rented by the hour and I did not see [*] in the hotel lobby.

I was impressed with the entry and front desk area. Also, since hadn't stayed at a Holiday Inn for years, was impressed with ... the upgrades to linens and room condition from years ago. We were very busy and did not have time to see the pool or anything.

Just if you go to Seattle area plan on lots of walking because parking and driving is rough. But, this location is easy to get to the needle, the downtown and to the market. We enjoy it immensely, but we are physically healthy. They would not let us park a u-haul there, and you have to pay to park a car. We were helping out daughter move and that would have helped us a lot.

Great Experiance
Rick Jun 20, 2009
Used hotel as a one night stay, on either side of a 8 day cruise out of Seattle Wa. Was able to get a room well before check ... in time, which our party of four appreciated after leaving the ship at 10am. We also went to Seattle Aqurium for a couple of hours. Had bad experiance getting Orange Cab Company to this hotel. Gave up after 45 minutes and called Yellow Cab. Emerald Grill, next door and which is affiliated with Hotel, had great tasting food and good service.

I was here on a business trip with ample time for pleasure also. The room I was in had 2 queen size beds and was relatively ... spacious. The bathroom was small. TV was standard tube TV and 32" I believe. The top floor had a complimentary breakfast for only top floor guests, but the breakfast is sparse and contains no more than cereal, minimal fruit and pastries, yogurt, OJ, and coffee. No wi-fi in the rooms, but wired high-speed internet provided in the rooms. I believe there is wi-fi in the lobby and downstairs restaurant.

Weekend in Seattle
Record hunter Mar 28, 2009
We went to Seattle for a weekend getaway. This Holiday Inn was modern, the room was easily half again as large as a normal ... hotel room. Easy walking distance to downtown, Seattle Centre and the Pikes Market, and central to the things we went there to see and do. We were there on Valentine's Day and I hadn't thought about making dinner reservations. After searching for a place to eat, it was looking more like dinner was going to be a bag of chips. But the restaurant at the hotel had room for us and the dinner was every bit as good as the high-end places that were filled up. The nightly rate was low and we weren't expecting much more than warm & dry, but it turned out to be a tremendous value. We'll be back.

Bring reasonably good walking shoes and something to keep you warm and dry. Driving and parking in downtown Seattle is a pain, but public transit is pretty good.

Lee Ann Sep 14, 2008
We stayed at this hotel for one night as we needed just the one night before we checked into our other hotel in downtown ... Seattle. I would recommend the hotel only for a short stay (1-2 nights) as it's not in a very good part of town. The room/lobby was clean and spacious though. Service was good. I guess because it wasn't in a good neighborhood, they have you access the parking garage with your room key - which is good.

I am quite disabled, sit in a wheelchair. The Holiday Inn (on Dexter) in downtown Seattle was very accomodating for my ... husband and me. We had a 2 room suite with a large TV in each room. The bathroom is wheelchair accessible with a pull down bench to sit on while showering. A nearby guest laundry room was excellent. A couch/hide a bed was great for day visitors. The elevator took us down to a free, with room key, handicapped parking spot We visited the Space Needle and several restaurants, all within walking distance. My visit was excellent!
