A pleasand hotel
Paris fan Nov 3, 2009
While we have been to Paris many times, this was our first time at a hotel on the Right Bank. Frankly, the [...] price was ... great, and the primary reason why we chose the Holiday Inn/Opera, but we found it to be very pleasant, with a quiet location, efficient staff, and beautiful dining area. It was close to good Metro stops. Those unfamiliar with Paris should avoid the nearby Rue St. Denis, which is iffy, but walk one block away, to the Blvd Sepostapol.

Paris trip

This was the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway to Paris. The staff were not only friendly but very helpful and ... knowledgeable. It is ideally located close to the Metro and many cafes and shops. The breakfast was expensive but well worth it. We had no problem getting to the sites of Paris we wanted to see. The staff were able to arrange an airport shuttle to more efficiently get us back home when we were ready to leave. This was the best vacation we have ever been on in our 17 years of marriage. Vive la Paris et vive la France!!

Buy a museum pass. It is a must. We walked right in to museums and monuments that others were waiting literally hours to see. This was especially true for the Orsay and Louvre museums as well as the palace at Versailles. They can be ordered online or picked up at an information center for around 130 euros. It pays for itself quickly. Also buy a metro pass with zones 1-6 which will take you anywhere in the city on the metro, buses, and trains.

The Two Cannards (Ducks) is just around the corner and was fantastic. Diners enjoy a real personal touch from the owner, with delicious food and aperitifs.

Restaurants were less than a mile away. The mall is approximately 1-2 miles from the hotel. The Louvre is an enjoyable walk of approximately 3-5 miles. Just be sure to take and wear walking shoes. There is a Starbucks around the corner and the staff is extremely friendly.

Backstreet Holiday Inn
John Apr 22, 2009
The Holiday Inn Paris-Opera conjures up a much more romantic and luxurious image than the hotel provides. The room was ... comfortable, but needs updating. The staff was helpful. Metro stops were only a short walk away. Area restaurants were excellent. But, this was no 4-Star hotel. The mini-gym was a one trick pony. The automatic door and elevators spent more time out of order than in operation. The hotel needs a face-lift. The window provided the only air conditioning.

My review of Holiday Inn PARIS-OPERA
shelley Mar 31, 2008
After a fifteen hour flight is was so nice to have the hotel staff prepare our room earlier than normal check-in time. They ... were always accomodating and friendly. It was lovely that they spoke English as well. We stayed in this hotel for five nights. It was five blocks from the nearest metro stop and we were able to navigate the city comfortably from this location. The breakfast and resturant had wonderful dining options. This was a wonderful place to stay and we would go back again in th future.

Perfectly located in walking distance of attractions

The Holiday Inn-Paris Opera was very clean and well managed. However, the only thing that I wish could have been better is ... the sound proofing of the rooms. We could hear the gentleman in the next room snoring. Aside from the noise issue, our stay was wonderful. If I were ever in Paris again, I would be sure to stay at this hotel.
