It was an overnight stay between flights at an airport hotel. The rooms were fine, clean and welllit/ The bar was terribly ... noisy with lots of rap turned way up. The restaurant was typically British food: lots of starch and bland and expensive.

Just down the street past the model of the Emirates Airlines A380, is a great little pub that has some really good pub fare. Monday through Friday select meals are only 5 pounds and a great deal!

Great location for an overnight

After reading some of the reviews I was somewhat anxious about what to expect. The verdict? Completely acceptable. The room ... and bathroom were clean, larger than expected and totally served the purpose of a one night stay after a transatlantic flight. Would I stay here for a vacation in London? Of course not, but it is perfect for a one night stay in between two long flights. The hotel is easily accessible by the HoppaBus from LHR Terminal 3. There are a couple of pubs within a short walk from the hotel so you are not held hostage to the hotel restaurant and bar. Breakfast buffet was 17GBP, pretty much the same as the dinner buffet. Sandwiches at the bar were running about 7 or GBP--not outrageous by London standards Internet access runs 9.95GBP for 24 hours which is a bit on the expensive side considering most USA Holiday Inns offer free wifi. Would I stay here again on a short rest between flights? You bet. Would I stay here if I were touring London? Nope, and only because of the commute to downtown London. If this hotel were in the heart of London and available for 45GBP, it would be a steal. Don't let the negative reviews scare you--this place is fine.

Convenient for Heathrow Airport

Hotel was very convenient for Heathrow airport and was about a mile from the car rental return (was able to return the car in ... the evening for an early morning flight). The reception staff were helpful. The room was clean with adequite facilities. It was mostly quiet although you could hear the aircraft landing and taking off. The hotel is a little difficult to find especially as there are several other Holiday Inns in the area. It is worth getting clear directions to the hotel. The restaurant food was very poor and a far cry from being value for money. If I ever stay again I would make a point of finding a local pub for dinner - I definitely would not eat at the hotel again.

This hotel was so close to the airport (and still completely quiet!) that for 2 people taking a taxi was nearly as economical ... as taking the bus! (for more than two, the taxi would actually be cheaper). So there was no anxiety about getting to the airport in time.

My son and I were traveling to Honduras, just travelled five hours . The Staff were un helpfull alowed us to struggle with ... lots of luggage through lots of fire doors. Not overly impressed with the service. The staff seemed to be preocupied... seen many people before type of attitude.

we piad only about 75-80 dollars a night for a good sized and comfortable room. we paid about 125 dollars a night for a bed ... and breakfast in london that was the size of a closet! so the holiday inn was a nice surprise.

use public transportation as opposed to taxis. the trains and underground are easy to figure out and a fraction of the cost.

The Holiday Inn LONDON-HEATHROW was conveniently located on the main road heading into the airport. The rooms were nicely ... furnished, with double paned windows to silence noise from the street and airport. The food in the restaurant was good and the service was polite and efficient. They did initially give us a handicapped room. It had several emergency call cords hanging around the room, very low sinks, etc.... but as soon as I brought it to their attention, they quickly reassigned us to an appropriate room that overlooked one of the runways. There is a shuttle that picks you up at the airport and will return you from the hotel, but it is actualy more convenient to catch a cab. You pay the same rate as the shuttle if there are two travelers(8 pounds) and there is no waiting around or making several stops. We rode the shuttle in and caught a cab back. The front desk ordered the cab the night before, and a very nice gentleman in a Mercedes was waiting for us at the appointed time. All in all, it was a good stay at a very reasonable cost. The Holiday Inn London-Heathrow was very convenient for an overnight stay pending a plane connection the following afternoon. ... There's a bus service for GBP 4 that stops right outside the lobby and a late check out time. The room was large and comfortable (included a double sofa and coffee table). The breakfast was excellent.
