A disappointment
Bill Nov 16, 2009
The hotel was quite adequate and satisfactory for the purpose of my business trip, until I had to check out early due to an ... unexpected re-scheduling of the court date. The "customer service manager" claimed, through the front desk clerk, to be absolutely unable to credit my remaining paid-for but unused four days to a room reservation in early November, when I am scheduled to return to complete the business meeting. She did not even have the courtesy to come out of her office to discuss it. Needless to say, I will not return to this hotel.

great hotel but the walls are thin!
phillip Jul 8, 2009
some friends of mine wanted to visit Worlds of fun and check out the power and light district downtown. The hotel was a ... perfect location maybe an 8 minute walk to all the action. Worlds of fun was a 15 min. drive. The hotel was a very cute and comfortable room. Parking is not free and we parked across the street for $12 a day. The staff was very helpful and more than nice. My only complaint was the noise factor. We were watching t.v. and received a noise complaint. The t.v. was not even on that loud. Their policy is one complaint and then your out! During the day you could hear people just talking upstairs not even raising their voices just talking. also at night you could hear people engaging in "night time" activities which was a bit disturbing(especially if you have children). It's just an old building and the sound goes right through the walls. Other than that the stay was great and had a blast. So if you are in bed at 10:00 then stay here if not i would suggest a different hotel.

Our room was next to the elevator so late at night we woke up to loud people arriving drunk from the power and light ... district, but was only disturbed for a few minutes. Everything else was good, nice room, comfortable bed. Not much around the area for Breakfast. We walked around the area to find something and no places were open except a Starbucks in a Hotel near by.

traveled on family emergency. Stayed 7 nights. 2 Days A/C out..NO RELIEF. I day room not cleaned. Snacks were legally out ... of date. Mgr. friendly but staff questionable. Towels not changed out for 2 days. NO Parking Available!! Had to use lot down the block for $13.00/day. ... One additional problem when we arrived at airport, auto reserved was smaller than reserved. They did not have car, so they updraded 2 xs for additional $9.00 per day.

John Jun 15, 2008
Billed as a boutique hotel I surmise boutique =tiny room. Room was supposed to be non-smoking but prior occupant(s) stank ... up the bathroom with their puffing. The AC fan roars constantly. They do offer free DVDs (with $20 deposit), DVD player didn't work first night but they fixed that. We left out early Saturday afternoon and to our disappointment when we returned that night they had not serviced the room.

A step into the past
pamela May 24, 2008
The Aladdin hotel in K.C. recently restored in the heart of downtown K.C was a pleasant surprise. K.C. has done an amazing ... job of reclaiming the inner city area. The Aladdin was reasonably priced and beautifully decorated in art deco, immaculate inside and out, very friendly staff. The restaurants, nightspots,non-exsistent previously, were reasonably priced, and all within walking distance,as are the Farmer's market and other interesting areas. What a lovely surprise for a mini-vacation, not far from home. the restoration in that area inside and out is amazing, it's reminiscent of old 30's 40's movies.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Aladdin during the Big XII Championships. It was great because you are so close to the Sprint ... Center and the Power and Light District. You are just minutes away from both and it is so convenient. You can valet your car and never go back to it till you check out.

Stylish, Comfortable, and Friendly
Christopher Dec 16, 2007
If you're thinking about staying in downtown Kansas City, don't look any further if you want to stay in a very comfortable ... and stylish hotel. From the moment I arrived I was greeted with a smile, complimentary champagne and the option to valet my vehicle immediately. If you chose to park yourself, parking is directly across the street inside a garage that actually connects to the hotel underground so you can access your car. The elevators are even equipped with televisions displaying things to do in the area. Upon reaching my room, it was extremely clean and spacious. There was an area for you to work on your laptop with using their WI-FI service and even a stylish chair/ottoman you can relax in when not working at the desk or laying in the comfortable bed. There is also a pillow service where you can order u-shaped neck pillows and different comfort settings. The bathroom was nice as well and the complimentary shower gels, lotions, and soaps are a nice touch if you're not bringing your own. There was also a nice robe hanging there for your use if you need one. The shower had dual-heads for the ultimate in comfort and the huge drop-in sink was a plus. The closet area wasn't really that big but they make up for that in dresser drawers. The plasma television and DVD player is the cherry on top in this comfortable yet stylish room. This hotel also includes a martini-bar and restaurant that had great service. The only thing I could find that made me say WHY? is that vending was not located on every floor - and if thats your only complaint about a hotel, I'd say its a pretty nice one.
