The staff at this hotel was very friendly and always had time for our questions. The location was fantastic, as it was ... minutes from Siesta Key. No Hot Water!!!!
Halina Nov 17, 2008
I arrived late and tired and all I wanted was a hot shower and to get to bed, but after I unpacked and undressed I discovered ... there was no hot water in the room - shower or sink! It took management 25 minutes to figure out there was an empty room right next to mine where there WAS hot water. No one even offered to help me move things. Next morning the manager was not available for me to voice my disappointment in my stay. A definite thumbs down!

If you like to enter or exit through the outside then stay here
Margaret Sep 30, 2008
I am not a fan of outside entry/exits in a hotel environment. This made me very uncomfortable. The room was fair, needed ... updating though. I had a very large group of young kids staying in the room next to me that were very loud, yelling and banging doors throughout the early evening. I put headphones on so I could not hear them after 9:00PM. No room service but close enough to restaurants. No snack vending machines for that late night snack soda machines only. Front desk staff were friendly and available. Not enough amenities for the price, I would not stay here again and would not recommend to family or friends.

This was one of the nicest, cleanest motels we have stayed in anywhere. The staff was extremely friendly. Surrounding area ... was lovely, even a swing outside the pool to sit and relax and watch the goingson! Complimentary cappacino, coffee, POPCORN, fruit and bottled water. What a deal! Would definately return and/or recommend highly!

Our room was at the very end on the first floor. It was neat and clean although a little old fashion. The was a comfortable ... chair but no ottoman which would have been nice. The hot breakfast was great but please no cheese in the egg. The staff was friendly and very accomodating.

GOOD LOCATION, CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE
Leslie Aug 22, 2007
THIS HOTEL IS VERY AFFORDABLE AND IN A PERFECT LOCATION; ACROSS THE STREET IS A GROCERY STORE, RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING. ... RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER IS THE BRIDGE TO SIESTA KEY. MY ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND OFFERED EVERYTHING I NEEDED: CABLE T.V., REFRIGERATOR, MICROWAVE, COFFEE MAKER, IRON & BOARD, HAIR DRYER, BATHTUB/SHOWER, POOL & JACUZZI. THEY HAVE A SNACK SHOP OPEN 24/7 AND IN THE AM OFFER AN EMBELLISHED CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. THE BED LINENS AND PILLOWS ARE PLUSH AND COMFY...THE AMMENITIES ARE MANY BUT THESE ARE THE ONES I REALLY WANTED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR THE BUDGET MINDED YET PICKY INDIVIDUAL, AND I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!

This hotel had everything we were looking for. Superior breakfast. I would call it a buffet. The location for the price was ... great. If you are used to 5 Star treatment then look else where, but if you need a clean place to stay for buiness or with the family close to everything, including the beach then look no further. I have 5 Star in my blood, but when I need to save coin I stay in hotels like this.

Very Friendly Family
Glynn Jul 9, 2007
My family and I traveled to Sarasota for the first time in our lives to visit our daughter who moved there after Hurricane ... Katrina forced her to relocate from New Orleans. Our Motel was as near to Siesta Key Beaches. The location could not have been better for traveling in the area. But better than that our motel room was so confeninetly located to the elevator and the parking lot we felt like we had preferential treatment. We enjoyed the pool and our children especially enjoyed the warm cookies in the evening. One evening my 10 year old was waiting for the cookies to be ready and when he came down 5 min. later they had all bee eaten by a lot of children that were also waiting. When the desk clerk say his disappointment she told him not to worry, that she would bake another batch and allow him to be the first one to get a cookie. That made his day and made him feel so special. We can't wait to back to Sarrasota to visit our daughter and we can't to stay again and the Holiday Inn Express.

There is a Ruth's Chris Steak House right next door to the motel and there is also a Carraba's on the other side of the hotel. You wouldn't have to get into your car for either choice.

Convenient location
Jennifer Apr 28, 2007
The only positive feature of the Holiday Inn Express Siesta Key is its convenient location, with easy access to both Siesta ... Key and Sarasota, and local restaurants/nightlife. The smoking room reeked. The windows in the room do not open. I had to get a can of air freshener at the store, which worked quite well. This is something that the hotel could easily take care of. Other than that, the hotel room was of a decent size, with the vanity area being separate from the toilet and shower. The beds were very uncomfortable. The shower/towels etc. were acceptable. The bed pillows were decent, having both soft and firm options clearly stated on the pillow cases. Other than the desk clerk who was a bit rude, all other staff members were nice. There are only 2 elevators going to the upper floors, and I encountered large housekeeping carts on them fairly often, having to wait for another elevator, or squeeze on. The elevators were broken a couple of times during my stay. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, with a nice 3 hour window. I did not use the pool or the fitness room.
